-
what sort of racing? race cars only? sounds pretty cool
-
who cares? with a first name like larry you're off to a bad start anyway
-
tis indeed, a normal puke day is $90 still...depends on discounting!
-
e30 m3's are in a different league to normal e30's...ive decided not to bother making a normal e30 nice...just enjoy and drive it...m3's are so badass

I'm sure we can get a group, what $$ are we talking? heard about this a while back before the website worked....looks great! dead keen
-
I can't say i had too many people super super keen to buy mine when i had it on trademe...didnt go above $600...people whinge about not being able to buy one but when its there they don't go ahead and do it why you asking ollie? torsen diffs? bear in mind the clutch pack ones Do wear out, so 2nd diffs from another country is not always the best idea, seeing as to rebuild you need to get custom clutch disks but cheap LSDs would be good...3-400 $ mark sounds reasonable
-
and could we have a wee bit more explanation as to how a new respray got a dent in the drivers side guard?
-
you've come a long way baby when you back in the big smoke for our puke challenge? should be good so when the pics of the other e30 happening?
-

well here we go... going by doing 2.5 stuff, the torx should be e14 and e12 (big and small respectively), buy yourself a set of torx sockets, around $60 from repco, your probably going to need them clutch fluid easy, undo the line near the brake booster, pump it a couple of times into a container then let it drip forget about ABS, way too much extra sh*t..the whole lines are different...more hassle than its worth, although i do like having it the engine mounts i imagine are bound to be similar enough to use...not sure though...the front subframe is the same so if in doubt buy a couple of new iS ones ( a good idea anyway, new engine mounts are very very good idea ) and use them you will need driveshaft from the iS too, or at least the front half. the wiring will probably be the hardest bit, if desparate use the whole iS car loom, but i imagine an easier bet will be to get an auto electrician to match up the iS engine loom to the 320 car loom via some sort of adaptor give yourself plenty of time to do it as its your first engine thing, doing things slow helps prevent f**k ups..ask me how i know! there plenty of help available on here too

will answer all your questions and give sage advice tomorrow...its gonna be good i like your project

cam change is pretty hard... i THINK the head needs to come off..actually very sure it does. so thats at least $300 for a headgasket set and new bolts...not sure how much the cam is but go new, something like shrick..have not heard anything good about re grinds TBH get the valves adjusted professionally...so easy to f**k up and it just wears the cam out and is not nice to drive...shouldnt cost much as its a very quick job

sure are...can take pics now that im back from taupo

haha...i wouldnt procrastinate but for $$$ i find in planning you change your mind a lot... anyway the metric blues are just a bolt...not sure why they so much better than stock? and the company doesnt sell them through the net anymore...i imagine you would need to get a shop to get them in or someone in the US...would much rather go with a stud anyway! autronic doesnt seem too bad? SMC is around 2350 with autotune and SM2 (with traction control and autotune) ends up being around 2950, both plus gst...but i like it...would be a nice little project!
-
has anyone used headstuds on the m20? grant, what are you doing about this? ARP? where/how much? also does anyone have any experience with autronic ecus? despite my protestations, already planning next project. awesome
-
uncracked fogs im keeping have a m20 manifold (i think they the same for 2/2.5) but im using it right now, and its for a facelift (but if you are flipping it shouldnt matter) will let you know when its available, after i have found another
-
not to mention if you do get it and insure it and crash it..payout for non turbo will be small compared to a turbo i imagine...
-
i'm planning on keeping it, unless a good offer comes along block is mint, still got crosshatching, new oil seals...its too tidy to sell for bugger all will prob keep for long term turbo project and its the lower compression eta engine, the dished pistons

andy and i are clearing out all our random e30 sh*t....if anyone wants to come have a dig around, give me a txt on 027 4248621 and let me know when you want to come. for example: cracked fogs that still work, exhaust shieldings, mtech springs, headlights, exhaust bits and pieces, many a nut and bolt, and more stuff i cannot think off. prices will be cheap or free, depending on what it is (genuine sh*t will be free, decent stuff may cost, but not a lot) we are both on the shore
