  1. Hi there, I have searched to the ends of the earth attempting to find an exhaust system for a BMW 2006 525i right-hand drive. I really need an upgrade and would love something deep sounding and noticeable but not obnoxious. I also have yet to find a single exhaust available to me in NZ. Please Send help :D Daniel
  2. I've got a problem with my e34 525i where the fuel gauge is stuck on more or less empty, I've tried taking apart the sender unit and cleaning the resistance wires but no luck. I've also run the cluster test thing and the gauge itself fully moves during the test so think something may be up with the sender unit and thinking about getting a new one. There's a few from repco and supercheap but not sure if they'll actually fit (non oems) but the parts picker says they do. I've got a multi meter if there's any other diagnostics I can do to try narrow it down. Any recommendations on where to pick on up or things to test? In Auckland but don't mind getting one shipped
  3. Hi guys ? I'm a bit of a noob here but I was wondering if anybody can give me advice on basic engine upgrades I can do to increase horsepower in my 1993 525i, its got a M50TUB25 engine and I believe with all the stock parts its at 192 HP, its my first Bimmer and I'm looking at basic parts replacements or modifications to get it to around 250 HP, and hopefully look to learn as much as I can along the way ?
  4. Hey all you groovy e60 owners! I have an excellent condition Owners Handbook for First Gen e60 525i 530i 545i for sale. Buying one new from the dealer will sting you $128 ouch! Why not buy mine instead. You can put your savings toward some fine car care products from @Barryn A mere snip at $50 including GST and post to anywhere in NZ. I should mention, it's in English too! "You know it makes sense".
  5. Greetings forum folks! I'm looking for some shopping advice here. We need a second car and I am keen to get back into a BMW. I've been looking at some nice e39s on trademe and could use some help measuring cars against one another. I am looking at three e39 cars: 2003 525i with 147k km for $4750 2002 525i touring with 130k km for $5800 (is the touring really worth this much more? I do fancy the additional space, which is why it's on the list at all given the price difference.) 2002 530i with 125k km for $4200 (has a healthy dent on the side, which I'd need to price out) I'm partial to the 530i or the wagon myself, but it's quite a healthy price spread. None seem to have very good service records, although the 530i claims to have been serviced exclusively by Bella Motors. I plan on test driving these on Saturday and hopefully having them inspected by BM Workshop or Botany Motor Worxx, whichever I can get an appointment at. (The cars seem to all be in East Auckland equidistant from these two shops) Given the little information above, is there a reason to exclude any of these outright? Any reason to focus on one versus another? Thank you all for your time, I appreciate it.
  6. Looking for an E34 525i Touring, anyone have one for sale or know of any? Preferably 1990-92, Manual Transmission, Upper North Island/ Bay Of Plenty. I am located in Rotorua. Cheers

    E34 525i parts

Hi guys, ive got a e34 525i(m20) with a blown head gasket or cracked head. It is going to be deregistered and sold for scrap metal next week so if anyone wants any parts from it let me know. It is in Mount Maunganui.
  8. Hi my fellow NZ'ers! I am wishing to convert my auto E34 525i with the M50B25TU (Vanos) into a manual. I am finding it difficult (not suprisingly) to find the getrag 250 + conversion kit that came standard on the late model 525i's with the M50 engine. The earlier models with the M20 engine have the getrag 240's or 260's (or zfSG310?) i believe and these seem to be more available. I've heard that the M20's gearbox bolts up perfectly to the M50 but due to the M50's tilt the box is on a 10degree tilt and therefore doesn't align with the gearbox mounts. Is anyone familiar with the process required to modify the mounts to suit the older gearbox? Or even better, if you can buy these pre-made? Oor even BETTER, does anyone have a maual conversion kit for my M50 E34? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Cheers
  9. Hi all, The HVAC blower motor on my car is dying and I need a new one. Does anyone know where I can get a blower motor? Either new, OEM part or recovered from a wrecked car. I have emailed several car dismantlers in Christchurch, but to no avail... Cheers, Anita
  10. Car #1: NZ new E34 525i M50 with ZF 5HP-18 Automatic Transmission. Car #2: Japanese import E34 525i M50 with Jatco A5S 300J Automatic Transmission. Goal: Put engine #1 into car #2. Problem: I can't align torque converter with driveplate to put the x3 17mm bolts in. It appears to be aligned rotationally (left to right) but it looks like the torque converter hole is a fraction of a mm too low. I've already re-installed trans to make sure torque converter was all the way in. I assume both the drive plates are the same? The shaft on the torque converter lthat goes into the driveplate looks slightly diferent, but i wouldn't think this is the reason? Any ideas???
  11. Hi, I am selling my immaculate 2003 msport as I am in the mood for a E36 M3 or E46 M3. This is an honest car with no issues and if I didn't live in Auckland where I only had a space for two cars then I would keep it.
  12. Hey everyone, Just thought I'd 'show off' my E39 after she's cleaned up and had photos taken. I must say the photos sure make it look cleaner than it actually is haha This is of course after the truck hitting me has now been fixed, me crashing into my garage has now been fixed (DOH!), and the crack on the back bumper I bought it with is fixed. + some yellow fog lights just to be different and a black grill and some tinted windows and there she is.
  13. Hi Everyone, So have previously had an E34 535iS and have been rocking a Mazda 6 MPS but needed to downgrade a bit for financial reasons so ended up with the following: 2002 BMW 525i Motorsport Jap Import Topazblau Metallic Suede Interior HiFi System Glass Sunroof 126KMS 18" Style 42's - Any recommendations where to get the bumpers done, both have areas needing some plastic welding and repainting. Cheers Bimmersporters!
