e30 325i 1988

Recommended Posts

so just bought a e30 325i

Specs go

Manual

Full Mtech 2

158 Miles ( speedo in MPH and KPH :) )

Not many funny noises

going to be changing a few things on it hence the Project thread, and compared to a 320i the pull soooo much harder

:)

That was a fukin good deal! How does the rear damage look - structural or na?

You might just make a profit from an e30 :o

2k and all damage is aesthetic, nothing a sledge hammer and Jack wont fix

only problem is some prick has cut the parcel tray, but only 1cm on half of it, either side. I will sand it down and paint it and it wont be noticeable, with a bit of luck that is

interior is surprisingly mint except for the driver/ front passenger seat

will be up for sale once done. (maybe :P )

with a bit of luck it will be registered by the ANZAC cruise, or i will use the D plate :)

good score!!

Just remember a D plate is TEMPORARY REGISTRATION only. If your car does not have a WOF you could still get pinged!!

I see it is missing the small tech II piece in front of the pass side rear guard. Weird because so is mine (until I get around painting the new bit I bought that is).

no lsd :( just ya basic run of the mill 3.46 diff, sooooo good for cruising, only revs 3k in 3rd @ 100k

hopefully i can get it back to a condition that will get it re-registered

but if worse comes to worse i will re-sell the whole car, but hopefully i can get it back on the road, cause other than the ding in the back its mint condition bar the front seats

That's a steal BTW. Kit plus motor plus manual conversion sold and you would be well in front and still have the shell and rest of the car

Update 1:

  • took rear bumper off, damage is very minimal mostly just broken clips :) (bumper only that is, other than that its a total mess)
  • hit the rear back into place
  • re sculpted where the tail light sits
  • found some rust under the battery right on the corner of the car, will need to weld some metal over it then bog over and paint
  • cleaned interior, dash has no cracks :)

tomorrow im getting headlights and taillights for it, also going to be continuing panel beating, with a bit of luck will be done the panel beating by tomorrow night :)

sorry no pics as i don't have a camera at the moment but will take some tomorrow

edit-

looking to buy some leather seats in black as the front seats have had it, how much do they go for?

Update 2:

Think im finished for the day

  • Picked up headlights and taillight from Ash
  • Mounted them
  • fixed the rear up a bit more
  • then took some picks

can anyone tell me how much leather seats in the front is going to cost? as it would be 10000x better :)

Update 3:

  • fixed fog lights (faulty switch)
  • Fixed windows, plugs were loose on every swtich
  • found to window wsitches to be faulty
  • attempted to fix central locking and alarm, but to no avail :(
  • put stereo in and swap parcel trays

projects to come are

  • fix rust under battery
  • get the final dings out of the back and bog it then sand
  • get window switches
  • sort alarm
  • sort central locking
  • get the rear bumper fixed
  • sort the right indicator not working on the fender and rear
  • get the rear painted

Update 4:

Went to get quotes and figure out the future of this car

BAD BAD BAD news, went to my man at seatbelt specs and he has said I will need a engineers report :( which is $350 and that will determine i need a whole new rear which is a massive hassle

so at the moment im looking for a registered e30 325i shell that i can swap all the bits onto

Oops. Too good to be true.... that sucks.

Oh well, plenty of 4 door cars in Diamond Schwartz out there.
