Not my cuppa tea either. Time attack would look cool with a bigger red wall.

I actually don't mind it, something different which is always good.

My only concern is with them taking away part of the sidewall casing by grinding away some of the rubber.

Is that how they do it or is it painted on with a rubber paint of some description?

They look mint,

have to agree that black rims would be the shiz though!

Pretty sure that I saw an article where the guy grinds away some of the sidewall and the stripe goes in after that.

That was probably an aussie, may be the same??

There was actually a kit on tardme about 2 years ago to set up a business doing this... I always hoped someone local would buy it so I could've got my 71 merc tyres done.

Looked like a cross between a bench grinder and a guard-lip roller. And the price of the rubber paint...

Big money.

How are these going for you Glenn? Wear wise?

Im looking at having some tyre painting done but want the paint to last.

Details of who does this would be appreciated

I don't really like them when the car is stationary.

What do they look like when doing a burnout?

Doesnt look too bad - kind of matches the red part of the sticker on the rear. Would be interesting to know how they do it.

Sorry, but I think they are horrid. Something I would expect to see on a slammed [insert 80s cap car here] driving up and down Queen Street on a Saturday night.

Good on you for trying something different though!
