My only concern is with them taking away part of the sidewall casing by grinding away some of the rubber. Is that how they do it or is it painted on with a rubber paint of some description? Pretty sure that I saw an article where the guy grinds away some of the sidewall and the stripe goes in after that. That was probably an aussie, may be the same?? I always hoped someone local would buy it so I could've got my 71 merc tyres done. Looked like a cross between a bench grinder and a guard-lip roller. And the price of the rubber paint... Big money.
