westy 614 Report post Posted October 19, 2009 (edited) How hard was the sunroof to do Tony? I'm bored with mine. Slow. Really hard to keep the heat out of it, so the roof buckles easily. Maybe some difference in shape around the opening too, makes it hard to blend nicely. Also, as threatened ha. Edited October 19, 2009 by westy

hybrid 1043 Report post Posted October 22, 2009 I reckon you have scope for doing this. Heated and rolled and slightly pulled. Do this with some more fitting tires (non flat side wall) and a bit of negative camber and I think you'll find it will fit.
joshnz 2 Report post Posted October 23, 2009 Question in regards to the above photos .. how easy is that to do? I need to get my guards pulled/rolled which is the last thing on my cert to do, the best place in town has said it will be difficult to do the above, but I don't see why. I can get a guard rolling machine at staff price through Repco which is about $220 or something, not alot more than prof. guard rolling. Would it be easier to do myself or is it best left up to experts? /hijack.
hybrid 1043 Report post Posted October 23, 2009 Here is the thread on it. http://www.r3vlimited.com/BOARD/showthread.php?t=89712 Its all in the heating and rolling as not to A ) crack the paint and B ) help the metal bend. The trick is not to overheat the metal so the paint burns/boils. If youre not confident then I would get an expert whos done it before to look at it. otherwise its not rocket science. The guys who did my e46 used a hydraulic version of this with heat gun. Only cause e46 rear gaurds are solid as sh*t.

westy 614 Report post Posted October 29, 2009 looking awesome! are you going to scrape all the under seal off? Nah. Considered it but decided it was a bit pointless. Factory underseal is in good condition and as soon as it leaves the drive (if it ever does leave the drive) it'll get covered in crap from the road anyway. Hence no stretch or slam etc too. Josh, sweetas.

DRTDVL 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 Just a question... I've always found the counter swinging brake and accellerator pedals a pain for heel-toeing... Would it be an option to reverse the swing to a top swing pedal??? I know it's a trademark feature of the BMW's maybe make the brake and clutch a bottom swing pedal?
