Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted August 30, 2011 Result. Works and fills well etc. Is this gonna be sufficient Dave? I suppose I could easily weld a lip on the end to make it a lil more contained.
Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted August 30, 2011 This is a motorsport thing Ashkan, but I'd suggest a lip at least myself.
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted August 30, 2011 Yeah I thought that might be needed, in my head the filler neck was going to be on more of an angle so it would have been fine but ended up not having enough space. Easy fix I suppose. Tommorow: Brakes.
westy 614 Report post Posted August 30, 2011 Do ya have to seal between the boot and the cabin?
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted August 30, 2011 As in firewall? I think so, again have seen people with fuel cells in boots with no panel on rear firewall. If I find a few baking trays I might make one up. James, David what have you got?
Jamez 2147483647 Report post Posted August 30, 2011 This is what I have got.

If I find a few baking trays I might make one up. James, David what have you got? From what I know (lol), if the car came with an in boot tank it doesn't need sealing from the cabin but if the car had an underfloor tank (e30 ect) then it needs to be sealed. Pain in an E30 because the cabin vents through the boot out of those flappy things behing the sides of the bumper. This might only apply to road cars though?? Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted August 31, 2011 This is what I have got. Yeah, but have you got anything sealing the rear fire wall from the boot?
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted August 31, 2011 Before and after. Only problem now is that the wheel wont clear the caliper. Need atleast 14mm of spacing from the hub and the way that the weaves are designed, the corner of the caliper JUST clips the inside of wheel. So now need some new wheels. Suggestions welcome here. Will give Evan a call tommorow and see what others have done to remedy this.

Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted August 31, 2011 Hey Ashkan, measure up the internal size of that ducting for me will ya. Need to know how big to make the roundy steel bit to connect it to. Can get you exact measurements but it should be 75mm. It slips over a piece of 3 inch exhaust pipe.

Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted September 11, 2011 So been having a bunch of problems getting clearance over the brakes. Managed to get a set of rims from Max so that the spoke pattern would clear the calliper. That still didn't work so tried spacing the wheel out 20mm. That worked but then ofcourse, had to cut the heads off all the factory wheel bolts... I ran out of cutting discs so spent 2 hours cutting them with a hack saw. Also had to get the bore of the wheel machined out to match the size of the hub-centric ring. This week will hopefully be at Gavins on the dyno
E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted September 12, 2011 Car is looking pretty awesome for the new season. Just wondering how you are going to hide all the modifications from the Series Scruitineers... according to the lastest updates you're running in the E30s!! You might want to take a few pictures down from the project thread ;-)
