E36 2 Report post Posted January 15, 2010 (edited) http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=265466190 Looks like a nice car. Wasn't this one competing in the Intermarque Sprints a while back? But now in Christchurch. Some quick times from memory. Edited January 15, 2010 by E36
Dyl 4 Report post Posted January 15, 2010 agreed, but is the 3.0L really more reliable than the 3.2?

hybrid 1043 Report post Posted January 15, 2010 agreed, but is the 3.0L really more reliable than the 3.2? Just a rumor created because of the noob owner vs 6 speed gear box issure, double vanos seals drying up (same as owning a e46, e39, x5, z series blah blah) and oil sprocket nut coming off which is a very easy fix of lock tighting it. Thus giving it a tag of being unrealible..
Guest Ari Gold Report post Posted January 15, 2010 Not so much a reliability issue Dylan, more the fact that the 3L's seem to be pretty healthy when they're dyno'd, compared to the 3.2L's which seem a little anaemic. You're more likely to find a 3L dropping 300hp than a 3.2 dropping 321hp
BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted January 15, 2010 with the 3.2L its advisable to replace big end bearings. there are pretty much no parts for the 6 spd gearboxes .

Dyl 4 Report post Posted January 17, 2010 Interesting. So really the question is, buy a 3.2L for 22K and up or pay 17K for a tidy 3L. I think you'll probably see less depreciation out of the 3.2, but theres no point in buying a car thats going to need heaps of stuff replaced. ORRRR buy an E30 M3. Did anyone look at that 1984 AC Schnitzer M6 from Tauranga?
