To hijack this thread instead of starting my own, does anyone know if paint shops that provide colorcode touch up paint in spray cans etc, are they able to provide it in tins as well that could be used to brush on? Anyone know?

I have bought matched paint for another car in a 100mL spraycan before.

Sorry I should have been clearer, I mean't 'brush on' paint like a 500ml can...

You were perfectly clear Nathan - that is what I meant. Last few times I've been in the paint shop they've been able to give me a jar of paint to touch up stone chips etc with a brush.

^^ Yep, it's all the same at the end of the day, just in a different can.

My question was aimed at big cans of it being made up...if I end up caging the E30 eventually I was wondering whether I could paint the floor of the car, body color by brushing it on, save me having to mask everything etc with overspray.

^ my dad bought a huge can of colour coded green paint from Repco 10 years ago, dunno if they still do that sorta stuff. Getting the colour codes converted to Repco's codes is the hard part.

Try "Total Bodyshop Supplies" on High street in Lower Hutt,

they're next door to Road & Track.

Ive used them quite a few times and always had good service.

^ same here, they're not cheap though. Have any mates working for panel beaters? they might be able to get you a better price, specially if you're going to be buying a decent amount
