dubman 39 Report post Posted February 25, 2011 Been having issues with finding a key cutter for my e30. I only have one key at the moment. Been to at least 5 key cutters, but none stocked the e30's base key. Any recommendations in Auckland Central for the key cut?
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted February 25, 2011 Get genuine blanks from the dealer and then get them cut by a good locksmith

dubman 39 Report post Posted February 25, 2011 (edited) Yea, they said that they dont have the blanks anymore. Others said they didnt bother ordering new blanks after they ran out. Edit: Bravo, were yours with the plastic handle? Edited February 25, 2011 by dubman

Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted February 26, 2011 Any lock smith should be able to order it in for you. The code from Silca is HU50. I used to get them and cut them for people on here when I worked at Mitre Ten. Should cost you around $8.00. If they say they can't get it they are lying, I just ordered 2 for myself from a mate that works there still and cut them myself. City Locksmiths in town are a distributor so should be able to help you.
antil33t 90 Report post Posted February 26, 2011 Be careful of just getting your key cut, if the key you are using now is worn as f**k some locksmiths might not do a very good job of your new cut. My 23 dollar key blank only works one way in the barrel because of this fuuu.

JFry 1 Report post Posted February 27, 2011 E46 ones will have to come from germany, so best to have a spare, as it takes a while to get here. ^ I doubt a key would even be half that mate.
