This, or near a construction site - apparently metal flecks hit paint work, rust, result eats into paint. Got pics?

If you can prove it was it was something external, your insurance will cover this.

That sucks man, feel for ya. Do you park your car on the road?

Defiantly worth contacting insurance.

Paint stripper in a water gun...heard of ****wits doing this before

Battery acid is better, not only does it destroy the paint, it eats rubber, plastic, everything. Weed Sprayer in the middle of the night, the next morning the car will be f**ked.

So im told.

Appeared over the last few days? Small lumpy spots?

I see your in the east tamaki/ Danemora area.

Yesterday (27th april) approx 100 cars in our car park have been coated in lime deposits which appears to have come down in the rain yesterday leaving hard deposits over the entire car. We are based on springs road opposite Danemora. Some quite new cars in some cases have been affected with lots of very peeved owners. My E30 is covered and the wipers now grind and chatter over the wind screen. Washing dosnt remove it and chemical washes are $150-200 though white vinigar is suposed to work which i will be trying tonight.

If this is what you have it would be interesting to know how wide spread this is and the origin.

Lime sucks, unless it's the edible kind.

Have heard Vinegar works as does Water Spot Remover.

Contact insurance company ... im sure your not the only one. OEM paint doesnt just do that.

PS this is why I wax my car(s) if I know there going to be parked at say the airport for extended periods of time. Stops damage to the paint including beading and sunspots.
