scott_e30 8 Report post Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) Also thinking about black kidney grills (not sure if i will buy a set or do it my self yet). Edited November 6, 2011 by scott_e30
Tristan 338 Report post Posted June 9, 2011 DIY Kidneys is very easy. Much more affordable than buying and looks just as good. I did mine on my E39. I think clear lights all round will look better than smoked but that's just IMO. Car's nice. Manual too... Awesome!
scott_e30 8 Report post Posted June 9, 2011 yeah come to think of it clear might look better as it would blend in with the headlights

I cant speak for the E39's but the clips on the rear of the grills are very likely to snap when you remove them - they become extremely brittle. For $70 (sure thats what mine cost), it ended up being the option that i ahd to go with. Check trademe and Ebay. They arent super expensive.
Lucan 196 Report post Posted June 9, 2011 Paint them while they're on the car, I did it on my E36 as the clips looked a bit old. Just cover everything in newspaper/masking tape. Off Topic: Has anyone got those RS reps on an E36?

Michael. 2313 Report post Posted June 10, 2011 What do people think of BBS LM's on my car? A good idea. Just make sure they are genuine or it defeats the purpose in my opinion. I like that E46 colour too. Nice choice.
sascha 17 Report post Posted June 10, 2011 (edited) What do people think of BBS LM's on my car? Do it! Would look mint with a bit of a drop. Are you looking at those in the FS section, coming off the m3? Edit: Just want to emphasise the importance of lowering it too I'm not a fan of high cars with nice wheels Edited June 10, 2011 by sascha

The genuine M3 wheels won't fit a standard E46 without changing tyres and some rear guardwork Buy our LM's :lollies:

scott_e30 8 Report post Posted August 10, 2011 (edited) Have finally done some things to my car. Matte Black Grille. 18" M3 Style alloys. Smoked side fender indicators. 35% tint allround. Still thinking about : lowering, motor sport rear flick spoiler, and defiantly clear corner indicator lamps. qube 3570 Report post Posted August 17, 2011 if you arent going to get a new front bumper, my next mod would be to chance the numberplate holder or get a european/long plate so it fits nicely rather than have black bits on the side! and if you havent already, debadge the 318i on the back and definitely hurry on the clear indicators, troll trademe for secondhand ones, or hellbm otherwise... diy smoke them for the time being haha wont cost alot
