FIAT 131R 223 Report post Posted July 4, 2012 3.15 to 3.45 (I haven't yet decided) Would be to suit an e36 What is the difference between the centres? The centres for E30 and E36 are both 188mm.
SRBMW 6 Report post Posted July 4, 2012 3.15 to 3.45 (I haven't yet decided) Would be to suit an e36 What is the difference between the centres? There is two different offsets in the centres- in the e30's there is one offset that will do 2.79 and 2.93 and then another that will go from there up to 4.3. However for some reason I'm pretty sure in the past I've found the e36 3.15 to need the lower 2.79/2.93 offset. I didn't look into it closely but they may have a different amount of pinion and crownwheel teeth.-just need to whip off the back cover and measure really. cheers

hybrid 1043 Report post Posted July 5, 2012 z3 M-coupe run it So do I -- If its a 5 speed 'e36/2' m motor, it will more than likely be 3.
polley 916 Report post Posted July 6, 2012 I have 3.45 at the moment with getrag 240. So the 3.15 gear set wont fit onto a E30 LSD center?
SRBMW 6 Report post Posted July 6, 2012 I have 3.45 at the moment with getrag 240. So the 3.15 gear set wont fit onto a E30 LSD center? It will fit fine both 188mm but just need to make sure you get the correct offset centre. Are you talking e30 or e36?
polley 916 Report post Posted July 7, 2012 E30.
SRBMW 6 Report post Posted July 10, 2012 E30. For E30 you should be fine with the normal offset one. I'll have a centre available soon that will have had extra clutches added and tightened ready to install in a diff.
