CSET 592 Report post Posted May 18, 2014 Haven't updated this in a while - some new bits have arrived & been installed New carbon fiber steering wheel trim. Fitting it was a bit tricky, with the torx screws located behind the airbag assembly. Can do a separate write-up on this if you need. Replaced fog lights with projectors and new housings. Old vs. new: Added a set of brake duct surrounds The purists are going to hate this one. Added new black corner lights

CSET 592 Report post Posted May 18, 2014 Yeah they're growing on me too mate. With the stripes + clear/orange corners + black & grey, there was way too much colour going on in the front-end.
qube 3570 Report post Posted May 19, 2014 Love all the mods especially the brake duct surrounds!

m325i 711 Report post Posted May 20, 2014 Are the headlamps smoked too? I have projectors and was thinking of going the other way back to 'fogs' haha... Are the brake duct easy to fit?
CSET 592 Report post Posted May 20, 2014 Are the headlamps smoked too? I have projectors and was thinking of going the other way back to 'fogs' haha... Are the brake duct easy to fit? Headlamps are black from factory - the depth is just enhanced with the sidelights. Brake ducts are really easy to fit - but do require a bit of a push to get to sit correctly. CSET 592 Report post Posted June 9, 2014 (edited) Update time! More carbon fiber on the way - this time for the centre console gear surround. This ended up being made-to-order from overseas, I couldn't find anyone that makes these in 4-button RHD. Also ordered a short shift kit from BMW - same as the below, and I'll replace my ZCP weighted gearknob with a carbon fiber ball (also on order). I've also ordered a whole lot of LEDs to replace pretty much all the interior & exterior lights. The first have turned up, check out the difference: They're bloody bright. And no check lights (yet..) Fun in the sun last week. Good chance to blow out the cobwebs as I haven't driven this for a while Edit: CF trim has arrived - and the fitment and quality are both spot-on! Talk to Andrey at http://carbonized-bg.com/ for your carbon needs. I have also installed the number plate LEDs. They're a nice shade of white and don't throw any codes. CSET 592 Report post Posted June 9, 2014 I also made a promo vid for the Gumboot Rally guys last month - not sure why I didn't post it up here.
CSET 592 Report post Posted June 17, 2014 Had a go cleaning my wheel tonight Before: During: After: Great success. Lux Soap Flakes + Mothers Leathertech. Left over shinyness is a light layer of conditioner that'll for the most part soak in overnight. I'll give it another buff tomorrow so it comes up as a nice matte sheen, same as the seats.

CSET 592 Report post Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) I've fitted up some more carbon fiber in the interior. Carbonized do some amazing work, and ensure perfect fitment by overlaying the carbon fiber onto OEM BMW panels. It does take a long time as they order parts from BMW (unless you send yours over) then ship here from Europe, but it's so worth the wait. Edit: I've also replaced all the interior lights with white LEDs. So much brighter, and they still dim on lock Edited July 29, 2014 by CSET
qube 3570 Report post Posted July 29, 2014 i bet the car gained like 50hp and lost like 100kgs from all the carbon fiber upgrades. cant wait to see the car on sunday!
