Headlining and door cards

While rolling with the rof open, the air must have caught my headliner and pulled it away.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend someone to repair the headlining and also reupholster the door card inserts?

More central Auckland the better.

Replace with second hand would be cheaper, to retrim would almost cost the price of new. I bought new for that reason.

The air wouldn't have done that either, just the cheap products BMW were using at the time of E36.

I know its a common issue. It looks like it has just been pulled out form under where it surrounds the sunroof.

Do I really need to replace it? Or can it be 'fixed'? Or is is the whole cloth meant to be glued ?

Its a e36 FL coupe.

Fixing will work for a short period of time.

I had a Citroen like this, Please don't judge me. anyway if your not bothered too much best DIY IMO is take out the liner. Remover material spray with spray filler. Then sand and paint with color. Cost about $30 never will sag again. Most people don't notice.

That is really cheap.

The best I can find is $400 from a guy who has obviously done a few e36s before.

I will pay 'more' for convience/location. (I mean the $400 place is convienient).

So Vin Trim are gone. Any alternatives?

Am I getting rinsed for $400?

(That includes roof, sunroof and pillars)

Well, it was my first car. Had it for 17 years now. It's on its second rebuild since I've had it.

It's fairly standard. Running the standard 2L Astron with a few fruity bits added. Slightly lower suspension and Simmons wheels as you can probably tell.

It's a good fun car to drive but uses a fair bit of gas.

Wish I'd kept mime for 17 yr so props for that. Although it ended up with the death rattle and cracked head. Would quite like to get back into one but I'm probably romanticizing it somewhat. What with vague steering, leaf springs and the usual old car character.

You should have definitely kept it!

I will never sell mine cause I know I would regret it.

Mine used to have horrible steering. It was almost frightening, but a decent wheel alignment has made a huge improvement.

And here's the 3.

It's running a 3.5L Rover V8 and Toyota Supra 5 speed.

I had mine done at Auto Interior Specialists in New Market, they did a good job. dropped it off in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon. It was $350 from memory.

Have been in plenty, not a fan.

They are the ones that make a terrible noise, porting huh.
