d.p.n.s 15 Report post Posted April 29, 2013 Ahh yeap. Do you know the weight of the engine ? A fuel cell can actually cause issues with weight distribution eg when fuel level changes. It can also help mask a heavy engine however too in the handling department by getting some weight over the rear wheels. the weight of the motor is about 196kgs but thats with everything onit. i have removed ac pump,aircon pump,and lots of the plastics aswell as half the loom so should be a wee bit less. It's interesting to see the different routes taken to move the sump around, in my rear sump setup, I made a 3mm laser cut adaptor plate that pulled the pan back 50mm or so keeping it intact. Baffle wise I just used the stock top plate baffle that reduces the sloshing around, however you'd definitely want some proper baffles for track use. Easy enough to do at least. I started by making a spacer block to lift the factory shifter up 10mm and cut and extended the pivot ball bought a alloy rod and bearing (that's the $28.50) could have used an old ball joint to make it for free. heres some pics. now theres about 40mm at the top of the gaer stick between throws. sweet Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I started to make a list of things needed ...go to about 28 and stopped haha I bought a radiator and this week ill make a shroud for the twin fans as welll as a bash guard for the sump. I managed to get some wheels so I can get the parts car rolling so now I can pull the diff and drive shafts out weld the bugger up and bolt them in the race car (till I can get a lsd) but that's about it for now mate. cheers dan Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Seems you have a 1994-1997 1UZ given the type of air flow meter your engine has. Ideal if you keep it NA, lighter thinner rods and slightly higher compression compared to the earlier version.
