jay^ 1 Report post Posted December 18, 2012 47 ... no wonder.
KwS 2425 Report post Posted December 18, 2012 47 is probably fairly close to the MAX pressure for that sized tire. Remember pressures increase as tire heats. IIRC on my old E39 there was a sticker in the door jam that listed all the tire pressures for different sized wheel/tire combos (including 17"). NZ BMW 368 Report post Posted December 18, 2012 47! Full of luggage I would go to 40PSI - normally these tyres have a max of 50 or 55, from what I understand you want to allow for an additional 6PSI from when they heat up. Like KwS says it's either on the door jam or the fuel flap where the pressures are listed.
Andre3000 55 Report post Posted December 19, 2012 (edited) 32 if cold, 34 if warm. The maximum psi on the side of the tyre is its safe stress limit not the recommended psi... Edited December 19, 2012 by André3000
KwS 2425 Report post Posted December 19, 2012 and: the spelling is TYRES we are not americans and pressures 250 kPa front 270 Rear , increase rears to 290 if fully loaded assuming you have decent tyres and not some nasty lingong , Nexen or other similar rubbish on your car. Honestly, get over it
jay^ 1 Report post Posted December 19, 2012 READ THE HANDBOOK Really so much rubbish speculation and very few facts or informed comments and: the spelling is TYRES we are not americans and pressures 250 kPa front 270 Rear , increase rears to 290 if fully loaded assuming you have decent tyres and not some nasty lingong , Nexen or other similar rubbish on your car. So you mean the exact same information already supplied by Greg in the second post. Thanks for your valuable input.
