URGENT! E39 Tyre Pressure PSI Reccomendations

Hi Guys,

This morning my tyre blew out just before the bridge - replaced it and pumped the tyres up to 47psi on all of them...

Please recommend PSI for front and back... Tyre dimensions are 235/45/17.

47 ... no wonder.

47 is probably fairly close to the MAX pressure for that sized tire. Remember pressures increase as tire heats.

IIRC on my old E39 there was a sticker in the door jam that listed all the tire pressures for different sized wheel/tire combos (including 17").

Full of luggage I would go to 40PSI - normally these tyres have a max of 50 or 55, from what I understand you want to allow for an additional 6PSI from when they heat up.

Like KwS says it's either on the door jam or the fuel flap where the pressures are listed.

32 if cold, 34 if warm. The maximum psi on the side of the tyre is its safe stress limit not the recommended psi...
