tobytoblerone 3 Report post Posted January 5, 2013 If I had room in my garage, I would buy this as a collectors item. Mint example of a E39 5 series, one owner low low k's and it's NZ New! Check it out http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-540332189.htm
Michael. 2313 Report post Posted January 5, 2013 Pictures don't do it justice by the looks.
jeffbebe 1559 Report post Posted January 6, 2013 Seems outrageously expensive. Mine was less than $6K for the same year and is in better condition IMO, though it has done approx twice as many kms and I've spent a couple of grand on it. Still couldn't justify $17.5K for a 17 year old car.
charles28 136 Report post Posted January 6, 2013 Its too old to bother with, as Jeffbebe said, 17 years old.. If I was to buy an E39 now it would have to be a 2001 or newer car I think and you can get some nice 2001 + models cheaper then that with Motorsport Kit etc.
BMWTouring 20 Report post Posted January 6, 2013 we sold a 99 540i NZ New sport, 30,000kms for 20k. much nicer car than this!
NZ BMW 368 Report post Posted January 6, 2013 17k gets you a nicely optioned 2001+ 530/40i with low kms I guess it's worth it to a collector but looking at the seats etc this does not look like a car that has "time capsule" status. And you still have the cooling system rebuild etc to look forward to...
