E36 sale valuation

Recommended Posts

Hello

I have a 1997 E36 318is Manual 4 door M Sport. 221kms South afican built. So its one of the rear colours they produced. not sure of exact colour name. but its like a pastal Green. There were 3 different colours (pastel blue yellow and green) that made it into NZ before Bmw put stop to it as 4 door M Sports in these colour werent spose to be sold here.

Full M Sport interior.

Has been well mantained when ever anything needed doing or replacing.

Recently radiator ball joints and much more. Have paper work for last 8 years of ownership.

Lovely to drive.

Looking for rough idea of value.

Or if anyone is interested in a rare model of the E36 M Sport.

Will sort pictures soon

Pm me if interseted or post with ideas or value.

Only fault is alloys are peeling a bit.

Cheers

Too hard to tell without pictures and without knowing what's been done. New suspention would make it more valuable as a set of factory bilsteins arnt cheep! Also what wheels are on it, what interior, rest of spec etc. But I'd say you'd be lucky to see 4-5k for it. And that's being generous!

Fiji Green?!

Yes that's it.

Yes from what i know there were 30 in total of the 3 colours brought into country that shouldnt have made it here.

in the 4 door model

The colour is a rare sight here. On that count, might be able to get more from someone who can appreciate it.

I'd say around 4k, maybe 5 if you get the right buyer.

There is one on Trademe sitting on around $12,000, that will be there for years to come

the fact that its a 318 (not a 325/328) 4 door (not 2 door) with high kms (relatively high for a 1997, unless its been living on the highway but still to the average buyer the kms are high) puts my estimate at 3-4k even with the goodies such as leather seats and msport bumpers etc.

you mention its SA built, does that mean it was registered first in SA then imported later on? or just built there and imported to NZ as first place of registration?

anyway due to it having a rare colour, you may be able to push for 5k

(awesome colour btw)

As I said there were about 30 of the 4 door with the 3 different colours and M Sport kit that were built in SA that got into the country that BMW didn't plan on but as far as I know went to Japan and sent here never meant for nz market. Once Head office found out they stopped it. Hesse why you won't see many of the pastel blue green yellow models in NZ. As there isn't any.

Brought into nz brand new.

I have a full page advert in an old nz Autocar mag for them from about 1997 or 8. It shows a green one (in a luscious mid flat green that I have never seen) beside the touring car.

Assuming condition is good - it's worth more than $4k. I'd say $6k+

That's the exact model it is with the same alloys. Will get pics over the weekend.

Have to agree. Still dependant on condition and finding the right buyer. But if it is a good example, don't sell it short. Not seen often in that colour and spec despite kms. Becoming increasingly hard to find good examples of e36s. IMHO

Im helping cousin sell it but she's in no rush.

She has owned it for a while and known car most it's life. Always maintained black leather is in good condition interior is tidy. On fault I can think of it previous owner cleaned it a lot as looked after it but used to harsher alloy cleaner so they would need to be repainted to get it back up to scratch.

I'm a specialist car detailer so has had paint looked after. Will be giving it a full clay and polish before sale.

If had money I'd buy it.

She only wants to sell because of attention she gets because of colour.

Just resize them to 800x600 when you upload :) Much easier than farting about with camera settings and ending up with crap res images

IMHO a tidy Fiji Green E36 318is is worth 7.5-10k at the moment.

This model is sort after, maybe not as much as the E30 318is but they still have fans.
