740i_Lou 5 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 I used the black on the wheels on my old car. Lasted pretty well on a daily driver. Would not recommend if you ever go on gravel and you have to be really carefull with cleaning. Takes a bit of effort to clear brake dust as you cant scrub with a brush. Also, not sure if its still the same but Griffin were the only importers/distributors in the country and they only ever wanted to bring in the basic colours. aja540i 1906 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 I might be missing the point here, but for less than the cost of 4 cans of plastidip you could get a tin of good quality car paint, in any colour ever made, spray 4+ rims with several coats, and not worry about washing it off! Wanting to know if the Pearl Dip has been brought into the country yet too... Or the massive range of other super amazing colours available for that matter. misgvous_1 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2014 I plasti dipped all 4 wheels for about $120. $25 bucks a can I think. From auto one in manukau. Did them in December and still look sweet. jeffbebe 1559 Report post Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) Plastidip is horrible. It's rubberized paint so even the metallic stuff looks average. It's also not that tough, as soon as you get a small chip in the paint it will start to peel and you can't really touch it up effectively, you have to peel off the lot and start again.
