M M 250 Report post Posted October 20, 2014 A friend of mine is bringing a container over from the UK in about a month and has asked me to post here in case anyone needs any parts brought over. Anything that can be carried can be brought, such as gearboxes, diffs, body panels, interiors etc. The only things that can't be brought over at this point are engines as they don't have the equipment to load them. There will be a charge depending on the size of the item as they need to cover the overall cost of the container but it will cost much less than bringing in some of these parts on their own. If anyone is interested, send me a PM and I'll pass on contact details.
E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted October 20, 2014 Any more details? Could be very interested. Where is container leaving UK from (can be a pain gettting diffs, etc shipped even within UK), where is it getting de-vanned in NZ? How are the costs of freight and customs etc. going to be divided up?
Allanw 1071 Report post Posted October 20, 2014 Oooohhh. the stuff I want could fill an entire container! I need to find a decent people mover I like, then import all the manual conversion parts from the UK. Not any time soon though
Driftit 2078 Report post Posted October 20, 2014 What Jon said. Possible that I would be interested in some gearboxes and diffs. Any chance we can avoid GST? E.g. is this household items for a move or is the guy just importing stuff.
E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted October 21, 2014 Might get a bit suspicious when the list of household contents reads.. 1) Kitchen Table x 1 2) Dining Chairs x 4 3) Car parts (various) x 1000 But it might be worth a try... as long as we don't advertise it all over the internets.

kulgan 1042 Report post Posted October 21, 2014 No engines? How about if it's still got the running gear, wheels, and all body panels attached? I'd luv to get this back to NZ.. http://www.adverts.ie/car/bmw/7-series/bmw-750i-e38-v12-7-series-for-sale/5392351

Possibly in the future there may be an option to bring cars but not at this point. The container will be leaving from Birmingham and will be arriving in Auckland. It may be possible to arrange pickup if the item you need is in Birmingham, depending where. Cost for items such as gearboxes will be $150 per gearbox/diff etc, smaller parts will be less. If you want more than one, a deal can be arranged, such as $250 for gearbox and diff. This will include import duty/gst.
Gaz 1060 Report post Posted October 21, 2014 Do you/he have the ability to get items down to Christchurch once they arrive in Auckland? Eg via Mainfrieght?

E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted October 23, 2014 One other thought, who is going to load the container? All these bits turning up will need to be palletised and strapped down or your mates caravan will be mush when it arrives.
M M 250 Report post Posted October 23, 2014 He has a guy over there who will load it properly.
