my_e36 43 Report post Posted April 24, 2015 I am absolutely no expert on this but could it be reverse threaded? ( clockwise for loosening)

francoisv 466 Report post Posted April 24, 2015 Haha thanks. I'll try Rays way, then the hammer way, then the go out and buy a massive impact drill for one use and return for a refund after

francoisv 466 Report post Posted April 25, 2015 Went with a 20 minute mock up bracket that bolts to the crank. Using 5mm stainless steal, and BOOM, 30 seconds to get it out (roll on the jokes) Thanks for all the help
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted April 25, 2015 thats a good idea, ive always just put a bar onthe crank end or bar in the flywheel and used a big ass pole to swing off to ge tthe bolt out. your way seems much less feral
francoisv 466 Report post Posted April 25, 2015 Haha we tried that, started chipping a way at the flywheel, so decided not the best of ideas. But we still used a 6ft pipe
hotwire 352 Report post Posted April 26, 2015 If the engine is still in the car, I use a socket/strong arm/pipe so the arm is set about 100mm away from a solid point in rotation direction (chassis rail etc) & flick the starter. Works a treat, except on a Honda with reverse engine rotation...
