KwS 2425 Report post Posted December 6, 2015 probably dealer fitted. they are genuine BMW Performance brakes though form the pics. Bet its like dropping a couple of anchors when you get on the pedal!
Jacko 2156 Report post Posted December 6, 2015 Weird, yeah maybe dealer option... wonder how rare they are (and if wreckers ever see them). Theyre about 3.5k US new by the looks... Kind of off topic, but anyone clued up with E87 options?, I assumed the "aero spoiler" on mine was part of the Msport kit, but that one is the second genuine Msport ive seen with no spoiler. Was the aero spoiler a dealer option too?
KwS 2425 Report post Posted December 6, 2015 ive been keeping an eye on 130is for a while on TM and that would be the first one ive seen with the Performance brakes. Couple of 135is have come and gone with them on too. Wouldnt be common at all here i'd say.
Matth5 471 Report post Posted December 6, 2015 Guess you'd have you be really into your trackdays/autocrossing to spend that kind of money on a brake upgrade. Stock brakes on my 335i have no trouble reaching the limit of the tyres grip and I've got some decent tyres on, Goodyear eagle F1 Assymetric. You'd probably need at least semi-slicks to benefit from those? I worry they'd make the car feel like some of those modern twitchy little hatchbacks where it's hard to stop smoothly. andrewm 236 Report post Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) Those brakes aren't expensive, ECS tuning do the front calipers+ brackets+rotors+pads+fluid+braided lines for US $1600. Compare to a stoptech or brembo kit which start from US $2800. Apparently they aren't good though, I saw a couple of the 135i guys were cracking pistons using them for track use. They generally have a reputation as show brakes and not go brakes. Edited December 6, 2015 by andrewm
Jacko 2156 Report post Posted December 7, 2015 They are brembos, repainted
E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted December 7, 2015 All M Performance parts are accessories, not factory options so won't show on the build sheet, fitted at the dealership before delivery. Not very common as they are quite pricey. The big roof spoiler on the black 130i is also an added part, definately not part of the factory M-Sport body kit. Jacko 2156 Report post Posted December 7, 2015 Shweet, the aerospoiler is a bmw part - 51 71 0 306 667 - Wonder if was dealer too? or maybe market specific to the M kit?
E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) Part number checks out as an accessory part for aerokit. The M-sport kit is a factory fitted option and can't be changed beyond the factory alternatives, for any market.
