treone 648 Report post Posted June 11, 2017 (edited) The E46 M3 gets a lot of kudos - but what about this? The ultimate M3? Ever? Sounds like it could be the rarest with only 3 in existence (according to the article)... https://www.motormag.com.au/features/1706/five-ultimate-bmw-m3s-part-3-the-e46-m3-gtr Edited June 11, 2017 by treone
Neal 544 Report post Posted June 11, 2017 Its a bit misleading. 3 road versions but a number of race versions around (two in nz ?). Saw a couple of E46 M3 GTRs racing against GT3s in a support race for a1gp at brandshatch. Sounding awesome going up the hill.
Michael. 2313 Report post Posted June 11, 2017 Cool concept. Would make for a fun project to build an E46 with a nice V8.

Has been a few genuine ones come up for sale in the UK over the last few years.
zero 1162 Report post Posted June 12, 2017 What kind of price do these genuine go for?
gjm 3258 Report post Posted June 12, 2017 35 minutes ago, zero said: What kind of price do these genuine go for? Genuine - upwards of (equivalent) NZ$300k. There's a few very well-built replicas (possibly better than anything ex-factory) available for $100-200k. Add the typical 'NZ tax' and you can see where it goes. Hobbs_e21 22 Report post Posted June 12, 2017 Always looked at the one below never really thought of it at a E46 M3 GTR, maybe just a m3 (with exterior cosmetics) but for a 2005 game came across pretty majestic to the younger self with less appreciation for what it really is before looking at 'affordable' cars for a restricted driver haha Interesting article didn't know that the V8 was there, hearing and seeing one drive by would be more than a privilege
