Doubtless a great driver, but seemed (despite some racing success) to be more about showmanship than anything else, but I was raised on a diet of British and Scandinavian, and other European rally drivers. Americans seemed to worship him. Reportedly an all-round nice bloke. Just finished helping his daughter build an Audi Quattro.
