http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1358361377 102kms $23900 ONO! Think I might have posted about this one before :| I think if you like the white leather (I do) and can keep it clean then this is a good proposition. Very tidy and well maintained by the looks of things. Has both timber and aluminium trim. "It's had a gearbox/clutch done and brakes/discs at 98000kms. I've serviced / replaced other things such as fuel filter / air filters / idle actuators, carbon fuel canister's, secondary air pump. Also has x4 new tyres."

  10. http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1350621157 $24K 62KMs "The PPK option increases the power output to 240kw (up 15kw from standard) and torque to 450Nm (up 50Nm), available from 1,500rpm. 0-100 times are also decreased. It also adds a nice burble to the exhaust on over-run (fantastic sound when in sport or using the paddles). The upgrade includes a software reflash to reduce lag and shift times; a second radiator; new intake; uprated cooling fan; and oil cooler. This vehicle was also optioned with the uprated BMW Performance yellow brembo big-brake kit, suspension, silver decal and badging, carbon fibre spoiler and interior trim - and coolest of all, white LED lighting pack (including halos)." Did wonder if this was John @e30ftw but TradeMe member ref appears different ... Looks like an awesome vehicle - some of the pics are very nicely done too
  11. Saw this tidy e60 550i on TradeMe, it has almost all the desireable fruit you'd want (specifically Dynamic Drive, Active Steering, HUD, Rear Blind, Adaptive Headlights, bluetooth, cruise control), and is the LCI model, 120k kms. Oh, and looks like the Logic 7 stereo too, and NZ maps. Style 246 18" rims - cool. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1315400256.htm under $15k. Tasty. the only thing it's lacking is a different shade on the monochrome/greyscale range of white to black to join the e60 gang!
  12. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1245811896.htm listed at $15,850. seems almost affordable. Hmmmm.... Award for crap photo, though.
  13. Hit with the ugly stick! have you ever seen a worse shopping trolley handle, ever? On a Z3? It's interesting; US built (Spartanburg plant), ex-Japan, LHD, metric gauges. Looks pretty tidy, to be fair. 80k kms. Did I mention the interior? An interesting blend (clash) of faux-walnut and plum leather. It was the 90's, after all. The Foo Fighters had just dropped their debut album the year before, we were wrapped in Britpop and Cool Britain, you could press your nose against the glass of the McLaren showroom in West London and marvel at the F1. Bill Clinton had been re-elected and there was an air of positivity in the US Economy; a whitehouse intern oddly elected not to dry-clean her dress. The e39 debuted in UK, seems light-years ahead of the five it replaces. Plaid shirts were in. Cigars were smoked in bars throughout North America. And this Z3 exited the Spartanburg assembly line, exactly 5 years before planes hit the twin towers in NYC. This really needs rescuing to make into a track car, really. with an S52 or something. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1234808191.htm
  14. ~$6K so pretty cheap and very nice in silver but has an oil leak and some upholstery work required. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1063954394.htm But I have enough cars... :\

    QUICK! Which 5 to buy?

Firstly hello! I'm new to the forum and haven't owned a bimmer since 2010 when I left the UK for NZ. But now I'm setting my budget to around 10k and really need to make a decision by tomorrow morning. So I'm looking at a near mint E34 535is 1990 (Msport) NZ New . 25% Lsd. Manual. 300ks Also I'm looking at an E39 528i 2000 msport nz new. Near mint. 250ks Finally looking at E60 -2003 Singapore import near mint. 185ks The e39 is fairly cheap for what it is and all nice leather interior. E34 is tricked out with all the toys of the time and has very good black leather for it's age. Again the e60 is in great condition. It looks like an Msport but I suspect that someone added the badges and the steering wheel as it lacks the suspension and mags of most Mtech i know. I have owned 2 e39s and enjoyed them in the UK - i also had an e36 and I've played with an e34 and an e30. Personally I prefer the body look of the 30/34s and consider them true drivers cars. That said I'm buying a car for weekend use only and would really value your opinions on what you would buy given the choice. E39 is half the price of e60 and the e34 is $7500. So- I want to buy tomorrow. But which? I'm torn!
