finally finished wiring my angel eyes to daytime running lights DRL and all the extras. There are no plug and play harnesses for the e36, so I built my own. Currently running mechanical relays (SPDT) however the next step is to move to electronic switches (MOSFET). So the configuration is as goes angel eyes hooked up to ACC as DRL. angel eyes also simultaneously hooked up to interior lights (lock on, lock off, fade on, fade off) angel eyes will run with main headlights when on separate in cabin switch to keep angel eyes on with no ACC and no key etc. (35w LEDs are low current, low drain, wont kill the battery). Thinking of having this circuit run off a smaller secondary battery .. we'll see .. maybe after the MOSFET conversion). Previously had this set up running using 3 SPDT relays, now only using a single relay and 4 diodes. Thinking of ways to further improve the efficiency and reduce parts. Also designing a PCB and enclosed box with labelled inputs/outputs to have an almost plug and play harness .. can set these up for whatever configuration you like .. no errors on my OBC. retail from USA for harnesses designed for e39 etc are $30-$60. so yay!

If you did the google search I did using the same words I'd suggested, clicked on the first link which is a PDF file explaining in detail the fault code and repair, inclusive of OEM part numbers and clear easy to follow diagrams to fix the fault (which reads practically identical to yours). Taking around 20 seconds to cut/paste/look and establish whether this document outlines the fault and whether you're prepared to tackle the work involved shouldn't cause so much nay-saying or spit 'n vinegar. Use it, don't use it. Whatever. Seems folk are pretty quick to jump to conclusion and bandwagon. The same procedures are detailed elsewhere too. I'd figured a PDF document is fairly standard, printable and simple to follow. It seems not though. At least not if you're not prepared to take the effort to simply look. Good luck anyway.

The dry weight of my e30 was 1080kg before the conversion (no spare). You've nearly removed an e30 from your wagon haha

Not in that material and pattern, that's BMW Performance only, I've tried ordering directly though Recaro. Kicking myself I didn't pick up a set of these from McMillans when they offered them to me for $2k all up. Hitup Retro for the Recaro's themselves, http://www.rve.co.nz/recaro.html the seat is just a Sportster CS https://www.recaro-automotive.com/en/product-areas/aftermarket-seats/products/recaro-sportster-cs-cross-sportster-cs.html They are SUPER comfortable as well. Edit: Vivid Racing are selling them too. Not cheap. http://www.vividracing.co.nz/recaro-recaro_H4wzk.php

Z3 rack installed with all new tie rods etc. No more steering play. Its the best the steering has ever felt. Needs alignment before passing final judgment.

Buy it, and then fix those issues then.

Awesome read thus far, love what you've done with the place. Are you hanging onto the interior? I've got a project car that's been crying out for an M-Cloth interior for some time if you're willing to sell.

That's definitely true if there's bugger all room ... but the official tool has a side jaw which your standard flat pliers don't have..

Hi there I am new to this forum however I have been a fan of bmws for years. First up is my 1986 318i tc baur which is undergoing a whole transformation. Interior is going all black, m52b28 going in, whole rear end is being re-done with new bushings all round, coilovers, panel and paint etc etc. Any advice on the build would be much appreciated. At the moment if am after a disc brake setup for the rear, medium case diff backing plate, half shafts and trailing arms. Next I have my 1987 635csi which I am building into a track car. It is a slow build as my e30 is my priority at the moment as it will be road legal but the e24 is my favourite and ultimate race car. Plan is to turbo the current m34b35 in it, full cage, full race car. Again, any advice/info would be much appreciated. Photos to come.
