Got a few sneak photos in of the ol boy at the wedding. Will upload some of the shots we had done when they get developed. Didnt quite get to finish what I wanted before te big day, but a good success all in all. Drives pretty sweet on the bagged suspension. needs some fine tuning, but after honeymoon I will bring him out for a meet and great.

Suspension parts haul, at the workshop. struts, strut mounts, bump stops, dust boots, spring perches, spring seats, pinch bolts and a bunch of other fasteners. Only thing re-used are the springs. I was interested to note the Sachs OEM strut housings are aluminum. An e60 trunk, this morning. with luck, it'll be ready today.

Hi, Well after 10 years of lusting after an e46 M3 I finally have one sitting in the shed :-) its a 2002 with manual box and around 150k on the clock. You may know this car as previous owner was on a couple of forums I believe. It pretty much had all the work done to it that I would have done which has saved me a ton of time and monies, 19" work rims, BC golds, LED lights and a few other bits a pieces. Its Phoenix Yellow, not a colour I ever liked but its growing on me and it nice to have something that stands out. The rear subframe has had the HellBM treatment and I'm hoping its mechanically sounds for a good thrashing ;-) Plans include full service (inspection 2), hopefully a tune from HellBM, some new interior trim to replace worn items, a new steering wheel and racing buckets. and maybe down the road lower diff ratios. This is my third BMW, my plunge into euro cars was an E61 MSport 525 wagon, and that lead to another E61 MSport wagon, this time a 550. Loved both those cars but wanted a weekend warrior that I could swap cogs in. Hoping to hit a track or driver training day.

Shocks themselves were pretty reasonable - USD480. The rest of the hardware, and freight, runs higher. I end up paying the GST - if it's missed at the border - through adjustments on my GST return. About NZD 1350-ish all up. Sourced from FCP. I err on the side of caution, having had shock replacements done where dust boots or spring seats weren't replaced, and the creaking really pissed me off. With BMW recommendations for new fasteners (no re-use/mandatory replacement), and my caution - what's the point of that tear-down if you need $50 extra in parts - I order a lot of hardware. My e46 rides like a new one, hopefully this will too! tyres this weekend. @TermiPeteNZ you can expect a drive next catch-up ?

The 30-something driver of teh white X5 that pirouetted of the road in front of me last night was unlucky. Or maybe the other drivers motoring along like it was a bright and sunny afternoon were lucky? Torrential rain. Spray. Poor visibility. Standing water. Dark. Line of cars travelling at 80-90km/h but that wasn't fast enough. Came tearing past me on the inside, pulled into the outside lane. My spidey senses were tingling so I backed waaay off and then - the left hand indicator of the X5 comes on, so he's pulling back to the inside lane? Then a twitch from the back of the X5. Hmm. Then a wriggle. And then I could see the side of the X5. He'd hit a patch of standing water, perhaps while making his lane change, possibly while accelerating. A big ol' Merc handles water quite well so I was able to slow while watching the graceful rotation of the X5 as it gently spun off the side of the road and down, well out of harms way. As I started the thread about BMW drivers it seemed appropriate to post this, but in fairness that driver was far from alone - so many people in a huge hurry with no regard for the road and weather conditions. It was probably a combination of big fat tyres, standing water, and an ill-advised manœuvre that was his undoing. No one was hurt, but one of the attending police officers was preparing a lengthy lecture on 'driving to the conditions' when I left.

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1292647636 $20K, 112KM - BMW 740Li M-Sport AC Schnitzer 2005 - and lots of extras. I know it's not cool to like E65s - but I think this is a damned nice car.

Depends on: Model Age Environmental exposure, Mileage Generally I find BMW Electrics rather good, newer stuff tends to have module failures so that is a debatable issue. Older stuff (pre 2000) is typically the most logical and simplistic type, using separate wires for each function linked to relays and sensors. It's easier to modify and change around IMO. Newer stuff, early 2000s on, went to a CAN bus (or similar) system that uses single wires between modules to communicate, basically like a Ethernet system within your car. If you have the means to use BMW diagnostic software it's pretty awesome at solving problems and getting live telemetry from the cars sensors so you could argue it's better than the older pre OBD2 CAN systems. However the complexity does go up with that. I personally like the older style as it's all fairly straight forward, if maintained properly, would last for decades. E30 / E34 era etc.

When she arrives today. Its only a 740i as I haven't managed to find any 750s, but a V8 will still sound cool.

If you know exactly what parts you want, realoem has weights for part numbers.

I <3 FCP. That's quite reasonable too all around. I find them even more reasonable if I combine the order with a US trip.

Would it come with a chain so you could secure it to a building or tree to stop the drunks tipping you over all the time?

Thanks! Here is the options list on the E65, seems to have a truckload of goodies but not 100% on what parts are individual. It has Individual badges on the steering wheel, door sills and wheels. I'm wondering if this is the car used for the manual photos as it looks the same?? It was first registered in 2007 next to the BMW factory in Germany with only248Kms on the clock. It was then purchased by BMW NZ to be used for a feature car and bought by a Dr who barely drove it hence its super low KMs. So it was a 1 owner car and has all manuals and spare keys etc

Here is the sedan on its original wheels as it is now plus a shot of the nice tidy dash and sweet crack free dash.

This is my 86 E30 convertible. Body is totally rust free, I mean I can't find anything anywhere. Engine is sweet but has a few bits that are not original which I'll fix up over time. Interior is in excellent condition too but the dash is cracked unlike the sedan which is mint. It looks like its on lowered springs too. Only had it 2 days so still coming to understand it all. Still has the original handbook with it too which is always a nice touch.

This is my son's 89 E30 325i - 1 owner car with full and I mean full BMW service history. The old owner even photocopied the service pages when the handbook pages ran out. Engine purrs like a kitten but it needs some body work. It has tan leather interior too. The wheels didn't come with it, they are off my other son's new Mini )same stud pattern). The car runs standard bottle caps wheels. We just popped these on for the photos.

Ignored it!! because it's miss firing and or running rough again!! and took Maximus instead. Gloss black grill, black 545i boot emblem plus full set of all black roundels (hood, boot, steering wheel and wheel centers), have all turned up but unsure if they will go on yet. Also smoked black side indicator lights on the way.

Hi Guys, this is my M5. I've owned a long list of mainly E34's but this is the best one, even the original floor mats are still secured with unbroken plastic lugs. It is essentially a 1 onr from new, the original onr purchased it brand new in HK & bought it here in 1995. He sadly passed away and the president of the BMW club appraised it & passed it on to the dealer principal at Claytons & he sold it it to me. Anything else of interest about the car?? With regards the movie Ronin, the car used was a manual 525i(M50 engine). Listen to the exhaust tone as it slides around, deep M50 tone & it has the std white needle dash. rgds Mr E34. edit: forgot to add it came with the original turbines & throwing stars(personally not fond of either)
