The E34 is and will always been the last old era BMW before they switched to the newer generation style, that were noticeably different in quality, different plastics, less glass and such things. The other main difference was a lot more network based electronics too. The E34 to E39 difference is pretty significant, as is the E30 to E36, E32 to E34 etc They all have their pros and cons I think. Style wise the E34 remains the definative BMW for me, like an E30. If I bought another BMW it would probably be an E34, I loved my old one!

Well that's subjective. Many would agree the E34 M5 is one of the most iconic BMWs of all time, inside and out.

At least we can all agree its got nothing on the Leaf, inside and out The exec leather with wood trims etc on later models do look much better. Here my old one which i replaced the lower dash panels with black items - looked much better than the random grey\black mixture i thought

SOLD Hi all. I'm selling my very original e36. It has around 127,000km on the clock. Auto trans. I am the third owner and have only owned it for 5ish months and done about 9000km in it, mostly between Wellington and Napier. The owner I purchased it from had owned it since near new. I bought it to quickly replace my previous vehicle which was written off but now it is surplus to requirements. The previous owner had owned it for over 15 years and said the vehicle had recently had the waterpump etc done. I have no proof of this (his son is a mechanic and did it for him) but the car gets to temperature and stays there perfectly so I have no reason to not believe him. He seemed very genuine. From the factory it came with: - M Sports suspension (handles amazing)- Sports seats - M Sports package (the bodykit etc) - For the entire list type in ET20658 into www.bmwvin.com Since I have owned it I have put 4 new tyres on it and replaced the brake light switch. I have had the bonnet/guards panel/painted through insurance due to a decent stone chip. This car has a few minor blemishes (see photos) which pretty much all 3 series of this age have including: - saggy glove box, still works fine - door cards, as per photo, they are pretty good compared to most. - Paint peeling on spoiler - The roof could do with a decent polish, as it is fading a bit although I'd say its recoverable. - one minor supermarket scrape on the back left corner, and another one the bottom left of the front guard. Both are purely superficial. I have done 9000km in the last 6 months and it has run great. I cant fault the engine/transmission. $3800ono 0272336690 Car is now on trademe https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1430576877

It's not about cloth or leather, both are nice, it's suede anyway. More complementing the design of the sport seats / interior door trims, dash, center console etc. I don't mind the steering wheel, it does the job and they have the sport grips. An E39 or E34 M5 shares the same body panels as a cooking spec 520i, so I think it's the wrong car to complain about if you don't like the fact they share parts across the range... that's the way of cars unless you buy one off Supercar models, but even a lot of those have low end model parts in them, like infotainment systems, keys, switches, lights, etc.

Fair enough. I think the E34 interior is one of the best BMWs they had, bold, and well built, just a great place to be. Ergonomics are spot on too. I like grey interiors over black, black is pretty over rated, easily showing up all the dust and just about every car has a black interior which is boring, they tend to get hotter too, when in the sun. Worth considering the E24, E30, E31, E32 all have similar interior styles during that 80s-90s period so you must find those ugly too?

I watched a video recently where a guy used red/maroon aerosol and thinners to restore faded/cracked seats very similar to yours. May be worth tidying up the front seats for not a lot of $

Manual converted pfl coupe with a body kit. Think he's milking the e30 tax a little hard myself.
