Well well well. There it is, my baby. I did 60,000 kms in this beauty in its first four years so it’s been pretty quiet since. Exhaust tips - Genuine AC Schnitzer purchased from the late great Jason Richards - sets the car apart from all others. Eyelids - personal preference I guess but looked the business 20 years ago. Carbon decals - ??? Genuine carbon fibre centre console purchased from JR again. Electric rear windows - these are a must as almost impossible unless you are a contortionist midget to open those rear windows. Genuine AC Schnitzer rear window spoiler, also purchased from JR - at least you got that right. This car was/is the sh*t! Loved every minute of the four years I owned it Has been very quiet since then though. 36 minutes Whangarei to Warkworth and 2 hours 29 minutes Whangarei to Tirau back in the day. Superb machine. 10 litres per 100 kms at 160 kmh. Very very tempted. You never know. Shuey.

Hey, I'm from the New Zealand of the northern hemisphere - Scotland. Just bought an Japanese-import E39 530i Touring Sport. This seems to be much more common in your neck of the woods guys than over this way, so thought I'd join to get some useful info. I've also got a (broken) 2004 BMW 645ci, a 2006 Honda S2000 and a 2017 Volkswagen Polo GTi in the fleet.

Some pics of the headunit and the OBC features. Found very handy and it’s made the car feel very current. My 2006 S8 is feeling very dated now lol

I removed the front shields from our E39. After sealing of our road, it was getting a stone EVERY day... on BRAND NEW rotors! Then after removing them, I discovered the light rattle I'd had for years... was from the shields! Gone now! ?

Hmm, mine's a Redline Performance alloy radiator but I just checked their site and they're out of stock also. It may pay to give them a call to see when they'll be getting new ones? If you don't care about the all alloy bit then you can get an OEM Behr one from FCP Euro fast and cheap.

You shouldn't be doing this yourself. I would have called insurance back immediately after the first job and told them it was unsatisfactory and led to further damage (provide photos). It's their job, they need to make it right. You could also suggest that the dealer was the only place that could make it right (and wouldn't have created the problem in the first place). It cost State about 3 x dealer price to replace a windscreen once for me because they refused me dealer service, the new screen leaked, I had to take it back to the original place, they couldn't fix it and eventually it went to Mitsubishi (it wasn't a BMW of course) who did it properly.

Guy in my office just went through a windscreen replacement. Had the BMW dealer write a letter to the insurance company explaining why OEM is better.

2800 pounds plus VAT for the communications pack.... wow

Try the local BMW dealer for your windscreen replacements. We see so many terrible jobs done by other repairers plus replace all the parts as per repair instructions

Nav. now upgraded from MK3 to MK4. Trialing a square setup with 275x35x18 all round. 5 mm spacers on the front. Great improvement to overall feel and handling.
