Awesome to drive though will improve with new tyres all round. All M3 suspension with KW coilovers. Aprox extra 30kg with S65 and DCT vs. the N46/auto transmission. Overall about 200kg lighter than an M3.

Update time. Flashed a BPM Tune along with the DCT remap from the M3 GTS. 95% complete.

So I managed to finally find some time to get underneath the belly of the beast and whip the old worn out clutch kit over the weekend. With the help of a friend and my father-in-law, it's all running mint with already 100km on it. At first it felt pretty rugged but its easing up with time. See below photos:

Unplug the EWS, use a 30 amp fuse to jump the ignition leads (wires that provide power to key and finally starter solenoid) and see if the car cranks. It won't run, but will tell you if it is the EWS that is stopping the crank.

As you know Dave it’s a very pleasant place to be so using as the daily, now I’ve got audio is no hardship. Well till the gas station anyway. $209 to fill Thursday, em. I’ve figured if I can stay out of grid lock it’s MPG is pretty good, so if I want to daily it I need to get out of bed earlier lol ? It seems to enjoy the constant use as well, using a little oil, but marginal for 260ks

If the ews is still good we can code you a new key (or just a transponder) easy. Edit: even if your ews is dead, get a used one and we can code a new vin to it easy too. Edit2: this can even be used as a diagnostic step. Coding keys is cheap, like $5 for a transponder. We can code a key and you can test it to see if your car starts. That’ll answer your question. Same for ews, but I don’t know how much a used ews would cost you.

That's great news?, I must check these instructions with what's printed in my 5 series manual. I would have thought they would all be the same setup!! Yeah I've owned the E39 for a couple of years and they've never worked either so pretty happy to finally have some success. Now I need to fault-find the PDC system, that system was working, the scanner says there's no faults but I just get a continuous 4 second tone and the led blinks constantly on the pushbutton. Oh well, another day another BMW electrical fault ☹️.

Agree mate, use this on any Black I have, it is brilliant. Trouble is matching the blue has been a pain, tried there blue and darkening it as well, never right, to pasty. Lucky the liquid polish has worked great so far. I doubt it will last the same, but while I source a better match ...

Failed a wof years ago on ground clearance. Checked tire pressures and they were at 20psi. Pumped them up and passed the re check no probs. Not really the same issue tho.

This project is finally back on track. Found some time over the Xmas break to move things along. Need to introduce the JBE and all E92 M3 wiring to give seamless integration. Using existing plugs and wiring wherever possible this is well under way thanks to the effort/time put in by James. The pics can do the talking.
