2 pointsHey Team Another update for the v8 wagon, here's a few weekends worth of work Starting with finally getting that last m12 torx bolt out and being able to drop the auto box out, what a mission it was as there's not alot of room to play with in the trans tunnel. I thought i was home sailing with the manual swap at least till i found that there was no way of me getting the manual box to even tilt in the tunnel to get over the clutch setup. This is where i knew i had to pull the whole motor out in order to make it manual. The plan was to just have it manual for a while with the original motor while i take my time building the M60B44 motor. So once i got the motor out i was thinking i ant going to be doing this twice so ive decided to converting the M62B44tu with the M60 heads and stick that back instead of putting the original motor back in. Having stripped most parts off both motors there was just small things left to do for the engines before i could start piecing bits back together. Mock fitment to measure drive shaft, shifter assembly and gearbox x member. Reconnected the handbrake lines to the m3 rear brakes, swapped the whole m3 rear end in. Also knew that the M3 sways bars are different, so instead i got these spaces made, lengthen the bottom piece of the bushing plate and brought longer bolts to hold the 328i sway bar in place. Found out the m3 diff flange and 330i driveshaft cv joint didnt fit due that dust cover cap on the 330i cv but taking that off made fitting perfect and has same bolt pattern. Due to the M3 diff being larger this made the diff slightly longer too. which made the rear half of the shaft sit about 20mm forward of where the centre bearing bolts to the body. M3 diff 330i diff Managed to line the gearbox up as you can see it was 30mm from the factory holes. So what i did was drilled two small holes further in on the gear mount area on the box itself, now allowing me to bolt the gearbox mount to the factory mounting points. shifter arm and selector rod are also now pushed back 30mm due to the adapter plate. So currently this week at the engineers getting the shifter assembly shorten by 30mm and the block to have the oil return hole blocked and an AN -12 fitting welded to the oil feed hole. Both front and rear driveshafts at the shaft shop getting shorten rear by 20mm front by 32mm. Also the exhaust manifold for the driver side doesn't work with the b40 heads as the stud pattern is different, so will be looking at getting a custom set just made for the driver side for now. Also managed to get some cleaning done, so once block is back this week. I can hopefully start putting together this weekend.

1 pointHi all, its been a long time since I've been on here! Looking for a factory bolt on rear muffler for a E30 318i (m40) - mine has a rather large crack/hole and has failed because of this. Feel free to text/call 02102527505 if you have one available ! Thanks in advance

1 pointOnly just come across this site tonight and glad to finally find a group of kiwi BMW owners. Had my 335i for about 2 weeks now. My first BMW. Some of you may have already seen my post on r/e90 if you are reddit users. Managed to get her with a little over 53,000 km. M Sport with iDrive, sunroof, comfort access, black leather interior with aluminium trim (I think? The light silver trim, not too different from my exterior colour). I want to eventually do the NBT EVO retrofit as the CCC iDrive the car came with is pretty basic and a bit cumbersome to use. Plus the UI looks very dated now. Also want to retrofit some LCI LED tail lights, LED angel eyes/headlights, the homelink/compass/auto-dimming mirror and maaaybe the DCT electronic shifter mod from motive mods, although I'm on the fence about that one as I've heard you have to cut the shifter stalk to fit it and I'm not sure I really want to do that. Was also originally considering fitting the LCI Up/Down paddle shifters to replace the old push/pull silver ones. But I just converted my silver push/pull paddles to left side downshift pull, right side upshift pull + downshift push the other day, and they work just how I want them to now! Plus the look of them has grown on me and I think they may actually suit the car better than the newer black ones. My K+DCAN cable should get here within the next week or so. Planning to do the xHP transmission flash. That's about it for now though. Performance mods will come in time. But for now I'm just enjoying her as she is (LOL, give it a few months and I'll probably be eating my words with downpipes, fmic and JB4 on order xD ) Look forward to seeing some of you guys around and perhaps meeting up for some cruising. Stay safe out there!

1 pointHey my first bmw ever 2008 bmw 320i station wagon know little about bmw but this car has won me over lol really enjoy this car !!

1 pointYep i've used it, just for some basic stuff like coding out the fake engine noise and defaulting stop/start to 'Off' instead of 'On' in Comfort mode. Pretty easy and foolproof in standard mode, but as Soba says, I wouldn't touch expert unless you really knew what you were doing.

1 pointHey Nathan The Zf 390z is a diesel box that came behide the 330d or 530d motors. and i never got a m3 rear sway bar so didnt want to pay some ridiculous price for one either. It certainly does solve a whole heap but tell you what it looks like alot of work went into making it work too, custom brackets for power steering and alternator were made too. Glad i didnt have to go through it to be honest

1 pointJust run it and it'll tell you what you can code, module by module - fairly basic and straightforward. Wouldn't touch the expert mode for now

1 pointReplaced the rear springs with the H&R OE Sports. The 25 year old spring pads were definitely at the end of their usefulness. Released the anti-roll bar hangers in order to allow the lower control arm maximum drop and using a lever easily removed old springs/pads and installed the new. Had planned to replace arb links but was struggling to slide the new one onto the bar (same part numbers). Will get some rubber grease and have another go.. Plan next is to drop the front subframe to install the engine mount reinforcement plates and replace front springs and pads. Thinking while subframe is out I should 1. Have subframe stripped and powder coated. and should I 2. Drop sump and wire the oil pump nut 3. Clean up the sump and install a baffle. I may do only the occasional track day so this maybe overkill. Thoughts and anything else I should consider?

1 pointIt's also not really for sale anymore unless someone wants to pay the full asking price. The E36 video made my winkie tingle. And then I went out and revved mine to 7k and all was right in the world.
