Having own/ed both a 4l manual and a 4.4l auto e31, my preference would be... the auto, which I think it is suited to the GT nature of the e31 (or is it a stage of life thing haha). Don't get me wrong, the manual is the 'bees knees' and is great fun to drive (even with tired suspension lol), but the tiptronic auto is well matched to the 4.4l, smooths out the experience and is no slouch either. Also, don't believe what they say about the e31 being slow, dull and disappointing. I find it a pure pleasure to drive and won't embarrass itself, especially the CSI, against most of the modern 'unmodified' stuff today. And it looks way cooler than anything else out there haha! I thought my manual one had the edge, performance, handling and comfort wise, over the V2 Monaro CV8 I had at the the same time. @Kodachrome If your CSI went to Christchurch, I think it is soon to be 'back on the road' from what I've read in a post on the US forum ☺️. Cheers

That is what I thought too, but the more expensive listing is older and is the angry guy that replied to me!?

Experienced this shambolic bit of administration first hand today. SH2 is 80kph between Featherston and Carterton despite being the straightest widest piece of road in the area...but turn off onto a secondary road and 100kph is fine. NZTA can get f**ked

I am now the proud owner of an '08 R56... with an N14 😜 But in it's defence - it's Kiwi new, with very very very low kms and a good service/ownership history. Now to get it serviced; get some decent rubber on it, probably a walnut blast and an oil catch catch can, and do something about the horrendous factory audio with a 3.5mm aux in that makes music played via my iPhone sound like it's being listened to under water. But bluddy hell, it ain't half fun to drive! And yes Greg - I was originally thinking along the lines of a 130; but I've done the 3ltr Beemer thing (330i the M135i) and wanting three pedals pushed the price up beyond what I wanted to spend, not to mention there being bugger all on the market at the moment.
