7 pointsHey Team So finally got the e46 v8 swap up and running, We had a small bimmer car meet over the weekend here in Palmy and I managed to get the car going and took it to the meet. It was great tester for the car and man was is it quick. I did change the intake to an OTR setup, which meant I had to change the radiator which also meant i had to install a fan switch. It all actually turned out really good. Booked in for a cert in late April too so hopefully get cracking onto the M3 v10 swap soon. short vid of exhaust

6 pointsJust over a month of ownership, and easily the best car I've ever owned in terms of power, handling, comfort and just sheer enjoyment. Glorious.

1 pointEvening everyone, A wave of rational judgement and an adult-like level of responsibility has appeared to have washed over me in the last few days, and I have decided to put my 2008 BMW 130i up for sale to Bimmersport members. I would like to see the car go to an enthusiast who can either daily it, or do something cool with it! Bought it on a whim just over a month ago because I've never owned a straight six BMW (somehow), and the 130i has been a car on my ultimate daily driver bucket list since I was about 12. I've done 1000ks in it, so I feel I can tick it off my list now as I already have two other daily drivers, and too many weekend toys (as some of you will know), so I genuinely have no use for this car. So anyway, enough waffle, here are the details you want to know: 2008 BMW 130i Automatic 250,700 km Le Mans Blue WOF until 28/07/2023 Rego until 21/10/2023 Rare(ish?) Style 216 Wheels (they do genuinely get frequent compliments) 2 Keys AC blows nice and cold Heated Seats work a treat Transmission Serviced Was also told by previous owner that water pump & coils have been done prior to him, can't find any paper-work but given the ks and the fact the car runs really nicely, I am inclined to believe him. Tyres are fine - front has lots of tread, rears have a bit less but should still easily pass WOF. Car drives great, no funny vibrations, engine pulls well and sounds good - found a set of poly bushes in the boot so I think it may have been enthusiast owned in the past. Here I will insert the cliche "you wouldn't be able to tell its done this many ks unless you looked at the odometer" No warning lights, however the car is due an oil change. Bonnet gas struts are also tired - can throw in a free stick. Cosmetically the car presents well, but also has its fair share of scars consistent with the mileage (if you look past the front bumper). There is NO clear coat peel and the paint is generally quite nice. There's a few carpark dents here and there, scrape on the corner of the rear bumper and the typical rock chips but the dark Le Mans blue hides most of it well. Now to talk about the ugly elephant in the room - the front bumper - its pretty rooted. Paint is coming off and the splitter is cracked. The going rate for an E87 M Sport bumper seems to be around the $300-$400 mark, so you would just need to wait for a Le Mans blue one to come up and then the car would be relatively tidy all things considered. You could also just hit it with some colour matched paint as a temporary fix to cover the glaring areas of paint damage. There's also a dent in the bonnet just below the badge - luckily its quite symmetrical so is less prone to triggering OCD. Given the higher than average ks, need of an oil change and the fact the front bumper looks rougher than the NZ economy at the moment, I am pricing it at $4,000. Budget abut $500 for a new bumper and a DIY oil change and its a pretty nice car - especially being LCI and in the best 130i colour... with the best wheels, in my non biased opinion... obviously

1 point@Gaz its a OTR (over the radiator) intake made by x-air for a holden commodore. If you google OTR intake you'll see heaps of different styles

1 pointSearch NZ new, majority of the 320d xdrives are pre-LCI but there are a few nicely specced Sport and Shadow Edition LCI ones as well. The Jap import 320d's are all RWD (there is a 320i X-drive though) and not many of the UK ones are AWD either

1 pointI am glad to see you still have this. These M156 V8s really are something else. Funnily enough since between the last time I replied and now I have gone through 2 more 2012 C63s however both were white coupes and P31.

1 pointHey Team Happy new years Been a while but have got so much done and a few plan changes. Certifier has popped in, seen the drive shaft hoops and he is happy with the outcome. Heaps of little jobs done to get the motor finally running. Relocated the heater water valve, DIY oil catch can, relocated dip stick, welded O2 sensor bungs in, coolant and heater hoses, finished off the rear end of the exhaust, AC lines and other small stuff. So I have had the motor running on the hoist for a good 10- 15mins to bring up to temp checking for any leaks or issues. But ran like a dream, custom oil pump has pressure so very happy it has worked out. Cant wait to take it for a drive. Also a massive update on the v12 swap, Nelson at Hartley Motors has started on the intakes using 3d printing to make the runners which will be glued to the alloy flanges, very light when I held them in my hands and look very cool. But big changes in the direction with the builds now ( I know I change my mind quite often) I'm going to twin turbo the v12 motor now instead of ITB's and I will be swapping the v12 in to my X5 4.6is manual. The opportunity popped up which I thought would do more justice for the M3 rolling body. I will be doing a S85 v10 manual swap into it Cant wait to get a start on this swap. Thanks Team.

1 pointBeen a while since i updated I got 20,000 out of the rear PS4S but interestingly look like i will only get 25,000 out of the fronts. Oil changes annually which is about 7000km, changed trans fluid, gasket filter and one time use aluminium bolts again as the change procedure only removes half the fluid. Car still running flawlessly but will look to change out all pulleys and belts shortly and the injectors after that. I have some new control arms to fit so when the front tires hit 3mm soon ill swap them out and get an alignment and new tires. 8AB53DA3-EE6A-4BC4-B1BD-739FAB9737CB.webp

1 pointHey Team Another long break between post, so managed to sell the black 330ci to a nice gentlemen who drove all the way from te puke to pick it up. Short vid made by my friend and exhaust sound near the end. So have also managed to get the n62 oil pump stuff sorted for the m62tub46 motor. I had a few hiccups with the sump pan fitting correctly but we got there in the end. Also had to modify the cross member which the certifier was happy with. This was the 1st change to the n62 sump Shorten tubes and oil pump shaft Had to make 6 new 10mm spacers to raise the pump up and slot the oil pump bolt holes to accommodate taller spacers. The final Sump pan we ended up cutting the front off the n62 pan and reusing the X5 front 1/4 due to needing the power steering and air con pump tensioner brackets. All bolted in on the motor now i reused the m62tu oil pump chain and sprocket. Bolted the Flywheel and clutch it on Tested fitted into the engine bay due to me needing to find if the n62 dip stick cleared which it does but needs to be shortened by 120mm Plenty of clearance underneath too. Not long to go. Thanks Team
