This. Information is your friend. There are no guarantees of success but the more evidence of dealers fixing the issues you can find, the better your chances are. Your case is as good as it'll get - NZ new, 1 owner, fsh... Now you need to show it's their problem (as well as yours).

Tidy looking T2 spotted. I also saw what looked like a 135i - ‘CRBN’ that looked like it meant business. By the look of it, I could tell that there was something mean under the hood. Quite unlike all the E90’s you see with stickers, DTM’s, and M badges. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was a member’s car.

1997 BMW e36 Msport - Mora metallic individual w/ dove grey leather interior A few of you might know this car.. I have had the car for a year a bit but hasn't quite filled my gc8 shaped gap. Details as follows: Full 328i drive train swap - I bought the car with the M52B28 and a Getrag 5 speed in it but one of the bearings decided to disintegrate so now it has a nice low kms zf5 in it. BC Gold Coilovers. M50 Manifold and tune. Supersprint exhaust. Full Msport Kit including LTW wing, m3 mirrors and m3 lip Style 24 wheels. Aftermarket radio w/ bluetooth. New Michelin Pilot Sport 5 In the past year i have also replaced: Pretty much the entire cooling system(Including rad, all hoses, clamps, water pump etc) Control arm bushings. Fuel pump assemlby. General service stuff oil, air filter etc Clutch Release bearing. AC Regassed. Car is pretty tidy but has a few minor issues: Clear coat is starting to peel on bonnet. Interior could do with a few things refurbished or replaced notably the seats and door card fabric. AC Condenser is starting to rattle. Id like $18500 but that's pretty top of the market for these cars so I am open to offers around there. Contact no: 0226514005. Texting before calling would be ideal 🙂

Dear Santa I've been a good boy this year and I'd really like a Quickjack for Christmas... I did some measurements on the E61 and the distance between the jackpads is too much for a 5000TL I think The 5000TL has a maximum lift point spread of 152cm but I measured the E61 at 163 CM from the forward point of the front jackpad to the rear point of the rear jackpad. I might put a caveat that Spinner Jr was at the other end complaining he couldn't find the jackpad so maybe the measurements are off so I might just double check them just in case. Anyway - the 5000TLX looks like the model I really want for reaching the jackpads plus lift height, but it doesn't look like Costco sell that one The other option is to get the extensions for the 5000TL which would make it the same length as the 5000TLX, but the extensions are $427 USD on quickjacks US site, I'm not sure we can get them here either? And even if we can they make the base unit on the ground taller and ground clearance may become an issue. I think it comes up to 76mm 90mm ish.

Costco NZ tips/observations from a grumpy mid 30s fella: - If you're going to order food, do it before you start your shopping. - You also don't need a card to order food, so if you want to sample the 'Costco experience', go in and order a hotdog with the masses. - Your Costco US card is accepted, no need to re sign up. - The Aus sourced red meat doesn't hold a flame to NZ red meat, though they do have some larger cuts more readily available than your local butcher or supermarket might. Good for a big barbie or cook up. - Most grocery items are comparable in cost to a Pak'n'Save special, or Tai Ping regular price. - Fuel's comparable to NPD or Waitomo, can't beat Riverhead Caltex. - Vitamins/supplements are cheaper at Chemist Warehouse, which shouldn't be an issue shopping at if you're considering Costco. - Returns are a breeze. Mrs got caught up in the consumerism and did a decent clothing shop, got home and realised some were cheaper online or from local NZ stores and others she didn't actually want - just got caught up in the consumer-spend mentality Costco market so well, and returned with no questions asked. Best use of our card to date is boxes of Stroopwafels (you're welcome if you haven't tried these before).

Thanks for offer, I think BMWorkshop have one as I know they have done clutch and flywheel replacements on S85's before. But you never know, tools go walking and if I recall the alignment tool is not cheap. If they are stuck I will reach out. Cheers.

If you need the clutch centering tool, I have one. I had to buy one as Jon didn’t have one when we did our flywheel and clutch.

Sure do, got mine today. Hand torqued, even cleaned the wheels because they were covered in mud.

Been a little while since I updated. Replaced injectors and my coolant temp sensor (one that tells the ECU roughly how cold it is) which seems to have really improved the cars temperament when cold (would always idle fine but would often be a little hesitant under load like in old cold carbureted car). Also replaced my blower motor resistor but think I’ll need to replace blower motor too as it was stiff as - lubed it up but imagine it will seize itself again before too long. Running extremely well for the BMW club run this Sunday - let’s hope it does not need a tow this time around!

The more evidence you have of it being a known issue and of cases being settled/recalled overseas and the more noise you make, the better chance you will have.
