Paul worked for BMW before branching out on his own, the local dealer wasn't very happy apparently. From what I'm told Paul is closing because he got a job offer that was too good to turn down

Hello I know nothing about BMW or Googles 🤣 Was wondering if there are any other BMW people in Orewa that wanna catch up sometime. Could do a regular meet once a month or something. cheers Codi

Looks like newspaper in the rear footwells to soak up water. $5k for a 6cyl petrol e60 that doesn't run?! Great opportunity for a bridge salesman.

I have an E28 with an M54B30 in it (and manual box) from an E46/E34 (box). Its great. As its a custom job I had to make up my own intake. I made an inverted cone (venturi, vortex) style intake. I later found there is an aftermarket company making a commercial version for a couple of grand a pop. Photos of my design below. I also designed a new ducted heatlight cover (from back of E28 headlights straight to intake). Been running it for over a year now, hot and cold weather, no issues. I made it from carbon fiber infused PETG though I might switch to Polycarbonate (which is a bitch to print but is even tougher as a material). It goes well and sounds loud. Too loud for my liking. So Id love to make a "version" of the mythical and sadly now NLA BMW Performance Intake for the E46. This one: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw-parts/bmw-performance-air-intake-no-longer-available/13720429613/ Its dyno tested as delivering the top performance for all intake replacements. Not sure how or why its so good as Ive never seen it in person. Short of borrowing one from someone for measurements in person (any in NZ??), I'd need photos of every part of it, measurements or some sort of scale. Anyone up for saving this part of E46 history before its gone gone?

Paul at MillAnd has been in business for years. Really good guy to deal with - knows his stuff. He does do TradeMe listings but typically only for special deals, and to maintain a web presence. Most of his work is via phone or email.

Tough times around the world. At least we have our health. Most Wellington CBD workers seem to have flexible working options since COVID, so like me are spending their lunch money elsewhere 2-3 days a week. Part of this has to come down to promotion. Being in the BMW scene for around 15 years, I've not come across MillAnd. If I had stumbled upon their website, I would probably not bother as it appears to lack the ability to see their stock and therefore compare prices. Then again, the owner might have just retired or there may be other reasons non-financial for the closure.

Update - After i was unable to get the car running right it sat for a year while i got busy with other projects, however its back on the "to do" list and ive replaced a couple of coils and cleaned the MAF which made a difference, ECU still throwing MAF errors and there's a slight stumble so have ordered a new MAF. Also have an error that looks related to back pressure at the o2 sensor, the car still has the original mid section with the cats and at 300km theres a good chance they are clogged, so have a new Super sprint midsection to install. The Vano's is a bag of marbles as well, so Ive slowly been collecting parts for a full vanos rebuild and will kick that off shortly.

IRP solid subframe mounts installed. Froze them over night and they went in very easy. While i had to had the subframe mount i decided to check some spot welds in areas that CMP mentioned. Found a couple of failed ones i had missed as they are covered in seam sealer. Also got messy with a wire wheel and angle grinder to shave my mess i had previous made with the seam sealer. Much tidier now. Left the car out in the rain for 24hrs during that wild weather we had a couple of weeks ago and it did not like it. It had previously had a very small strip of clear coat failure near the front of the bonnet but now its really fubar. Can only assume water has got under into it combined with the heavy rain\ wind caused it to sh*t itself. Never seen anything like it and to fail so quick. I regret not leaving it in the garage now as it makes the stone chips look pleasant. I predict at least a front end respray in my very near future.
