Building on whats has been said here... great tips re: washing and polishing. I have often found, particularly on dark coloured cars that the make or break can often be in the dry. I use a synthetic chamois followed immediately by a clean micro fibre towel to bring a streak free and scratch free dry. Finished with Meguiars final inspection/instant detailer its in the bag. I <3 shiny cars.

Situation: In the not to distant future I'll be taking the M3 around the track for a squirt. My brake pads are very old I suspect but have plenty of meat left. Q: Will their age decrease their effectiveness eg heat resistance or will they be OK? Common sense tells me the answer but I'm still curious...
