They are a straight bolt on, all sensor holes there etc, check with him but pretty sure no mods required to bolt up. They were made for an easy transplant.
-
Another nice E34! Notice a few more being bought by Bimmersport members. What rpm does she do @ 100k's? 'Daily driver' hard on gas these babies!
-
'Wayney' on Bimmersport has brand new equal length stainless headers available for your car/engine. You should really get the car on a dyno(who's to say what pwr you actually have first??) before you fiddle with anything so you can recheck pwr output etc once you have done some major mods.

update on head flow numbers

Have you enlarged the inlet valve or just exhaust? -
M5 owners must be feeling the pinch M maintenance is the killer punch, these cars were built for deep pockets.

Fitting a supercharger would be cheaper etc.Takes heaps (as you know) to get power from N/A.You spend a small fortune on N/A (with disappointing results)Latest TBMW mag has 2.8ltr with drop in supercharger kit (bolt on conversion) 245bhp/236lb.ft base pwr, up to 290 bhp. Buy the 3.2ltr M3 engine/box/ecu/driveshaft etc etc on Tradeyou, 8 odd k.
-
Geeez, thats over the top! I think my option is cheap by comparison.
-
Glenn, ever thought of putting in the larger diameter intake manifold/larger throttle body/remap = 220bhp?
-
Just being a smart ass Graham, you know the old saying when people move up in the world, don't forget the common touch! I'm too old as is the saying so probably a bit before your time.
-
One shouldn't loose the common touch.

The E34 lines + total package are a winner. When you look at some of the individual panel shapes they don't look perfect, however when integrated into the whole car, looks great. Engineering + Build + Specs = Winner.

Best drivers car, E30 M3 left hand drive.

The single biggest problem is the dilution of the M sport brand, now there is an M sport 316,320, 525, etc. Thats why everyone is confused & everyone thinks they have an M car, BMW has further diluted the M cars thru mass production line building,100,000 E46 M3's.

This guy did a rapid transplant!

+1 Be very careful chipping M engines, run them at high rpm with bad tuning chips(too lean etc) & you will burn valves/pistons etc. Have a look on the net, plenty of heads pulled off with the nasty pictures. GET IT CUSTOM MAPPED IN NZ.
-
Maybe they have the figures backwards, auto 7 & manual should be 6.8. It's a pointless difference anyway, .2 of a second is nothing. You could have a bad gearchange which could amount to more.
-
Some E34 history, a bit lite on some info to be honest.
-
Welcome to Bimmersport, looks a nice low K's E30. Can't be many tidy convertibles left, did you know alot of handbuilt seam welding/strenghtening went into those cars. Put up some more good shots, preferably low mg pixels for quicker download.
-
The 2.7 build is still a couple of months out.
-
Looks a good tidy install. Does it give a deep induction snd under full throttle/ or are their any benefits or just for looks/snd? Are you going to bother dropping in the 2.5ltr or just keep it as is?
-
It's only money, burn it in fuel or oil! Maybe the newer M engines use oil to protect the special (or light) alloys etc in use today?
-
If you look too long at hideous things you risk 'turning to stone'.

Did the E39 article tonight Brent, will do the E34 later. ( takes a while ) The E34 was definitely a landmark car for BMW in the late 80's.(and probably the E32) BTW, Claus Luthe who penned E30,E31,E32,E34, died in March this year.
-
Thanks, i have no idea on the interior, maybe an E39 expert can tell us.

Too many pages to scan/reduce,(maybe later) this took long enough!
