It seems 318 series cars are sale proof especially ones south of the Bombay's. so... I have decided against my better judgement to race again the season. The car now has a new motor built to the 09/10 specs with the significant gains that entails. The car is still for sale so if somebody is looking at getting into the series this season and they want a car that's going to put them at the right end of the grid. I left a card under the wiper when I saw it out in Newtown in March, didn't hear anything. Of note this is the sister car to the one my family had in the early 90's it's been in WGTN all its long hard life. Our one was sadly written off in 1996. It was in very sorry state when I looked at it last. Looks like garage guy got cheap and is cashing in...

If that's the problems your having, its time to change your supplier to a more reputable supplier that stands behind there product. In the thousands of rotors we sell each year the number of faulty rotors we see back has actually decreased since changing to Asian suppliers! Believe me its way to expensive to ship heavy rotors half way round the world then warehouse and sell them only to have them come back! We as suppliers to the trade can not afford to import and sell dud products (especially brakes!). Your generalisation that all product from China in a white box is crap is not helpful. The market in NZ is very price driven (white packaging is cheaper), the best quality and price is currently from China. Maybe in a couple of years you will be moaning about crap product from India

Glenn, Did you know Brembo has a manufacturing facility in China? So who's to say your beloved BNT Brembo's aren't crap chinese!Having sold disc brakes for eight years now. I see less problems with Chinese rotors on both Japanese and European cars than I did selling only European sourced product. In saying that I still have access to Zimmmerman for those who want to spend more.

My kids have the M spec version. Its now 10 years old. It sits out side in the rain it hasn't rusted or fallen apart. It still gets used almost every day (probably done will over a 100k's ) best toy I ever got my kids. Just shows even the kids toys are built to last

Or you could buy a proven package here. I doubt they well let it go for two much under their build cost after all it was built to make a buck. Be aware you would need to sped a lot more on it to be remotely competitive.

Very different autos Surf to Prado. Surfs trans cooler is built into the the Radiator causes huge over heating problems. Can be fixed with aftermarket trans cooler. Prado already has this. I killed a surf with this problem (new head best price is from Toyota)

One word "PRADO" it's the only way to go. My wife did a 100k in 2 years and all I had to do was change the oil!! It was 96 Jappa brought with 70k on the clock and sold at 170K total deprecation was $3000. Do the maths Now you can see why they are bit more expensive. They don't loose value. Autos are fine, the 5spd is no quicker by the time you change all those gears. Also remember that under the current emission rules they can no longer be imported.
