More like newer but downgrading?
-
Looks the part, very nice. I think your biggest problem is the price obviously, you can get a lot more recent cars for that kind of dollar, 96, 97, and even 98 beemers are in that kind of range if you keep your eyes open. My 2c anyway. Good luck tho.

You should be working on your car?

Did you get the genuine plates as well as the german ones? You should have if they are legit.

Cost me $750 in gst, agents fees, customs clearance, maf inspection, no duty, and $500 for shipping 1.25 m3 ex USA.

Drive a truck guys, prepay isn't an issue. I've never yet had a station not turn on the pump for me as soon as I put the nozzle in the tank and pull the trigger. Tend to use the Shell on Roscommon Rd, still the cheapest place in town, it and the Gull next door, use the Shell for the flybuys.

Just out of interest, are you running the fan shroud? Can make a difference at idle. If it's not on, it can cause overheating.

That;s for the s52b32, includes gst and duty and handling fees at this end, Ebay for around $8.5k NZ, rest is import costs.
-
fact is Gus, you can land here from the States for around $6.5 to 7.5k engine only, engine and box seem to be around $10 to 12k landed here with duty gst etc paid. Only thing is that you buy sight unseen, so bit of a risk I guess? I've bought a couple of shipments of bits in now, all seem to be good so far, buying from reputable sellers helps. All thru Ebay.

Hose from Clutch master cylinder to slave cylinder needed!
Silver Fox replied to FKat's topic in Want to buy
It's a metal pipe most of the way, only a small piece of hose at the slave end. Most workshops can make up the pipe piece, same as brake line, and I've used an old brake fitting at the slave end, the flexible rubber piece from the wheel side. Works a treat. -
Manual vs Powersteering information
Silver Fox replied to JiB's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Not sure, but I removed the rack and applied a little grease to both ends and ran it back and fowards a few times, and all's good. -
Manual vs Powersteering information

Removed the pump and plumbing, converted the reservoir to a gearbox overflow/breather, drained the system, and cut and crimped the metal pipes at the rack end, leaving the ps rack in. -

We've been running one of our E30 race cars for 2 years now with a disconnected ps rack. No apparent problems, works fine, similar to the manual rack in feel. -
I'm sitting on one now, have it mounted as a computer chair, reclining back and on runners.

More like the union jack's a bit of a battering ram isn't it Mark?
-
Yeah, the M10 is the early 316/318 engine, up to 88 model in E30's.
-
None of the E30 boxes that I'm aware of unbolt.
-
Still won't work, and cheaper and easier to find a manual M40 box.
-
My wrong read Graham, you're right, so either way eh.
-
No, the engine's at a different angle, so it don't fit.
