You know the only difference is the white plug on the front, if you've got your old one still. Means you can use any cluster. The front plugin determines 4 or 6 cylinder for rev counter I think.

Have just talked to Jerry Hodges from BMWCC, you can get a day licence, he thinks around $25 at most, but wasn't exactly sure, car must have a motorsport logbook and fire extinguisher with metal bracket bolted to floor with 6 mm bolts and large washers, you must have cotton or firerated overalls and approved helmut. Hopes this clears it up.
