Welcome Matt, what's the front lower lip? Looks nice.

Been browsing for awhile, time to say hello

Welcome, I'd go so far as to suggest you could buy an E30 for what you spend on servicing? -
Great minds eh Kerry.

Yeah, pretty straight forward, mounting a full kill system inside with a starter button, most everything else is done. We've used the steel branched M54 manifold and a manual steering rack. The steering linkage is being turned upside down so as not to foul the exhaust, but it means getting the sockets on each end swapped as well as they're different. Thinking of doing something similar to the E30 318i Touring I've just bought as well?

The motor's in the hole now, with the 6 speed all hooked up, funny how the gear lever comes straight up the round hole in the tunnel without any mods. Now doing the electrics, all the ignition etc, hope to have it running next weekend with a bit of luck.

Have all those Simon, excellent set of blue cloth seats.
-
Oops, paid and pm'd thanks.

Happy Birthday Gus, hope the motherland's all good for you still?
-
Yep. that's factory standard.
-
He's an auto sparky, so gets them at the best price obviously.
-
You're E30, he's E36, bit of a premium still. Kits around 1200, and as said, 1800 to 2k fitted.
-
You had your chance Atta, now, I wonder if 18" Hartges will fit?

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=300764978 Already have ready to bolt in, Front and rear bilsteins and King springs, and a set of Racing Dynamics 16 x 7.5 wheels. Probably look at M42 or M44 after that.
-
Not at reserve yet tho, may be quite far away I think?

Will have some pics on Wednesday if you're all good. Can say it's got a tech 2 kit, genuine plastic one, manual, and no boot. Oh, it's E30 too.
-
Hey Will, check you don't have rust holes in the battery tray, they are prone to rusting under the back ledge and dripping down onto the ecu.
-
A lot of E28s leak into the boot, and from there into the rear seat floor area. Normally the boot seal is the culprit, but sometimes even with a good seal, mainly when you have the car parked with the boot higher than the front. The condensation is just due to the weather at the moment, cold nights with moisture already in there and you'll get it every time.

Yes it should, so long as it's from a M40B16, not M10. Should run fine actually.

It's an orange 4 pin relay from memory, the middle one of three, the left one is a white main pwr relay, not sure what the right one is, but think it's to do with the auto, it's not used in the manual cars. If it's not that, I'd be checking the ecu next.
-
It won't supply spark if the fuel pump doesn't go. ECU must know somehow? Been there, done that as well.
-
Best guess, check fuel and main relays, or dry connections at the fuel pump at the tank, cover under rear seat behind driver. Have also had to change one ecu, Most likely fuel relay, try another if you have one, it's one of the orange ones behind the cover on the firewall in the engine bay. Try jumpering the relay, if the fuel pump goes it's the relay at fault, if it doesn't then check for dry connection at the tank, or you have a fuel pump problem. Terminals 30 and 87 are the 2 to connect, you should use a fused connection, pump should run continuously.
