H&R Cup kit installation question
*Glenn* replied to Roshen's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
No.. its there to transferr heat from the shock insert to the leg so the insert gets cooling. We usually change it with ATF fluid -
If the alternator under or overcharges it can cause many problems in late model BMW's. Overcharging does the most damage. The OP should get it checked as suggested by a Dealer or BMW specialist
-
I questioned it being twin turbo because the picture didn't appear to match the description.. more pictures may clear it up. I'd like to see how all the exhaust & pipe work has been done if that is the engine described.

How long ago was that Josh ?? Don't think we'll ever see that again in our life time.. wouldn't it be great if people could just tolerate and live with each others differences and not hurt or kill each other.. humanity just seems to waste each other for the simplist or trivialist reasons... shame realy.. this is just me looking at what goes on around me... just ignor my ramblings
-
Wow...that was nice Troy... you agreed with me
-
I suggest you get a professional pre purchase inspection by a dealer or BMW specialist

H&R Cup kit installation question

Under the bolt head... not between the shock and hub -
It should only stay on for approx 20 minutes after the car is locked when all the ECU's should be in sleep mode. Will come back on when you unlock the car. If it stays on all the time there will be voltage discharge somewhere which can cause the battery to keep going flat and will need diagnosing.

One way valve

I'm still not smoking.... but still having to deal with other issues is hard

If you take the wheel off and just undo the rear section of the guard liner you will be able to check whats leaking... I'd check it first before buying anything. I don't know who has cheap pumps...genuine around $90 +Gst with a new grommet
-
It's inside the front inner guard liner on the drivers side at the back. You will probably find the motor is leaking the water- a common problem. Replace the motor with a new grommet as well

Twin turbo ??
-
Its all one piece

Yes that is a structural component.... it's always amazed me how that car got a cert What other faults did it fail on ??
-

Jammers = illegal interferance with law enforcement = naughty
-
That would be 6mm & 10mm on a BMW
-
An E36 4 door or coupe is completely different in the rear suspension to an E36 Compact Graham. Poking around under 4 doors & coupes will result in nothing gained. E36 Compacts, Z3's & E30's share the same rear suspension configuration.

Have you checked the vane (flap) in the AFM ?... it may be jammed. Maybe try another AFM off another members car that is working properly.

There should be an indicator mark, this is not truley accurate though A special tool is required for the cam & a lock pin for the flywheel
