Even with 13.5v charge rate the battery still should hold 12v at rest. How old is the battery and have you charged it and load tested it with a pile tester ?

Try Coolcar in Manukau Ph. 2635777

It would need to be scanned to determine the fault. What location are you from ?

The problem you are going to have with this pre-purchase inspection, is finding someone that has worked on them. I worked on many of them years ago. They are high maintanence though and you have to know what you are doing. We rebuilt a couple of engines back in the late 80's, early 90's. Even changing the engine oil can drop you in the sh*t. Timing chains, valve gear and manifolds are the main issues. Llyod Marx in Hamilton was one of the best down there. He has since sold his business and I don't know how to get hold of him. You might be lucky and find someone in the dealership down there that is old enough to have worked on them and knows what to look for. You would also need to check the engine out hot & dead cold. Good luck... any more info....give me a call

No.... get it scanned by someone with a brain that you can communicate with

Check the charge rate..should be about 13.7-14 Volts. Then do a load test on the battery. How old is the battery ?

Most professionals won't lend their tools. Try Mike @ Synthe the sponsor of the New Member Intoduction threads http://www.synthe.co.nz/

If its clear and tastes like plain water...thats what it is. Allow the engine to get cold and check your coolant level to assure youself. Also taste the coolant so you know what the taste is like. It's quite normal for the AC evaporator plate to produce alot of water with the temperatures we are having ATM

On another note: Why doesnt Repco, Supercheap & all the service stations not provide this service ???... They sell oil for DIY and then expect us, repairers that havent done the work to get rid of the DIY's waste ?? I heard waste oil is good for the veges and flowers

So you joined today just to get rid of your waste oil ??. It took you 7 minutes from joining with out an introduction to start bagging me (my Business)....The offer was given to freinds & members on this site. It wasn't & isn't something I offer to the general public. I'm not a waste disposal business. BTW: It was 40 litres and we said $10 Alot of repairers now charge an Environ charge of $10 per service to get rid of your waste oil ... WE DON"T

Towbar wiring on E46 Facelift Wagon

Jochen or Grant might be able to help with this one. You might end up having to get the correct wiring/control unit from the dealer though.
