Take the rubber "O" ring out and try again. The housing is alloy and the thermostat is stainless. It wont hurt to be a little bit rough with it if your replacing it

We would fit a Century DIN65ZMF... that is the battery we use all the time Your not measuring correctly, all the Din batteries for BMW's are 170mm wide

Normal... in sports mode it will select 1st and won't lockup in 5th.. you will also get engine braking in sports. It will select 1st under load though, either full throttle or towing

Give me better info and I'll price it from here. At that price it must be a water cooled alternator for a 540 ??
-
A minimum of 95...but I would use 98
-
It would also be prudent to replace the battery as well if it's over 3 years old for warranty on the alternator

The proper E30 boot roundel is the same diameter as the bonnet roundel but the body shape is slightly different
-
Kelvin may have got that mixed up. Qualitat were referring to the fact of making a warranty claim on failed components, not the lowering of the vehicle causing it.
-
Qualitat Motors are correct with what they have told Kelvin. The Warranty Companies are taking a harder line with all their new policies. If you lower a car or modify its suspension you will void any claim on suspension or steering components. It also applies to other mechanical components. They are quite strick on their new "NO MODIFICATION" policies Basicaly, now if you buy a vehicle with a new mechanical warranty you must not modify anything, or run the risk of claims not being accepted.
