Flood water is not fresh....its a mixture of fresh waster, sewerage, phosphates (FARMING) salts and alot of other nasty chemicals. You can go to the beach and swallow salt water, it won't harm you. Try a Brisbane river cocktail. As for the cars, they will probably have similar damage to salt water depending on the area they were submerged.

Kelvin brought one of these and I think he's considering lowering it. Yes English is his 2nd language http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=346448725

Apparently it's cool to look like a wanker when you really are one these days.... so I'm told

People trying to help Max with this need to be aware that this is Bens old car and has the M10 gearbox behind the M30 which could be why this is giving problems for them.

I'd use either a standard 20w50 or 15w40 grade oil BTW: I think you'll find a genuine oil & air filter will be cheaper than Ryco

No aircon will give you instant cold from start up if the car hasn't been running, especially with the temperatures weve been getting. The evaporator plate has to freeze down to get the cold air. 3km sounds like a little too long though.

Nathan & Greg... I can help you both with this but I don't have time to write a book... If you would like some help... give me a call... we do this all the time.

On the 18th October we inspected your car for overheating issues, we did a full scan ( normaly $50 incl Gst Retail ), inspected and checked the cooling system, providing you with a written report and never got to do any of the work necessary to correct the faults. We did not charge a scan fee and we charged you $45.94 including Gst for our time (Labour) I suggest you find someone else to waste time with.

I can't price what I can't see or what has not been described properly. I would need to see it. I would also be very concerned about the vibration you also describe from the engine.

That will work as well...so long as he doesnt force it and break the key. Especialy if it isn't a genuine key

Jack the car up and connect a jump pack or battery to the starter positive and a ground
-
The price is fine Ian....just be very, very wary

Faults quite often don't throw errors, depends what the fault is... metered or unmetered . In 30 odd years I've only ever replaced 1 Vanos unit. I suggest letting me have a look at it for you.

Just brilliant rot...get an automotive paint supplier to mix some for you. Either pot or spray can
