You mean in the rear shelf or the scuttleboard ?The rear shelf ones just pop out from behind when the shelf is out and I just did the scuttleboard ones on the car with a cloth and some cotton buds to get into the gaps

Ive just received my renewal from State for the 740i and as a check I did one of their online quotes and it came in 20% LESS than my renewal ! So can I have some simple answers to decide where to take my business please. Ive done a search and read that most people dislike State so Im keen to move elsewhere. Car, Mods(y/n), Insurer, Happy(y/n), Premium(if your happy to give details) 740, no, state, no, 455 All are welcome but Id especially like to hear from the errrr 'older' bimmersport community (as Im 35, with a clean licence and a carport to park them in) so I can get a relative idea

Congrats Em, I remember my first car (Orange Mazda 808) and I dont think I was out of it for a week ! Get some photos up and do yourself a favour. Stick the money you have left over into an account. If something happens in the first 6 months you can pay for it, if nothing happens then you can buy some goodies

nz320i.... Jamex progressive lows are in the boot Not a lot of good there I know but Im trying to sort out some shocks to do them all at the same time. Once the front is dropped I will be happy. The red tint was from Placemakers and its a glass tint rather than a lense tint. Andy suggested something else but I just couldnt find it so I stuck with this. They look better in person and not so orange but still not quite as red as the rest of the lense. bmw_beau.... I was looking for some carpet dye but just like the lense tint couldnt find any after Id tried the local hardware place, mitre 10, placemakers, spotlight etc. Ended up at Repco with some vinyl/fabric dye and you just spray it on over several coats. I have some carpet shampoo that I used first and the tray looks like new now. A big difference over the grey, but then the old one was so badly sun damaged that it just snapped in two as I was taking it out.

Im thinking that Im going to have to paint the rest of the grill now as the horizontal bits look terrible against the newly painted grill... it doesnt look that different in person.

So had some time today to finish a few little things. After an hour or two in Ian's magic cave of goodies I was loaded with things to knock the little jobs off quickly. First up I finally found some lens tint after trying pretty much every shop in Wellington ! Red all around looks the business but the photo's make them look more orange than they are. Then I got stuck into making things black.... first the grill now a before and an after and then the rear shelf got swapped out for a clean, shampooed and painted black one. Anyone want these nasty speakers ? Old one.... Its not very easy to show what a difference this makes....but I reckon its one of the best and cheapest mods you can do. and finally Things are coming along nicely

I dont have a direct link for you Will but in my web browsing Ive seen this several times and its a known problem so give google a bash and see what you come up with.[edit] Here are a quick couple of possible solutions

Possibly the best piece of advice I could give (that hasnt already been said) is for you to just go out and drive as many of them as you can. Dont let the salesman fob you off with ten mins. Tell them you want it for a day or even over night. Drive all your usual routes to and from how to work etc and take it everywhere you would normally go. You will not only find out which engine does it for you, but you will see several different interior specs and which toys are available on which cars. Take your time....there are e39's for sale everywhere you look and they have dropped in price dramtically over the last couple of months. Dont under any circumstances choose one that doesnt tick all your boxes, wait for the next one, you wont regret it. 530 is definately the best IMO, and as Paul said dont discount the diesels....the torque they have is phenominal.

Im not a huge fan of the wheels but the rest of it cannot be faulted....well done. Have you also thought about removing some of the stickers you have on the windscreen ? Ive always preferred to have as few stickers as possible on the car and even rang up beaurepairs to complain when they put THREE stickers on my 7 after it went in for a check.

Do I need to modify Factory Wiring??

Try ringing them if you find a number. Ive found that alot of NZ places are crap at replying to emails -
Sorry I shouldve mentioned I want one for the e30 not the e38 !

Have you asked Hella ? -
Its just something thats quick and easy at the moment. I will be doing it properly at a later date when Ive narrowed down the 'to-do' list a little !

Those are the guys I was going to recommend. Ive bought several sets of lenses through them and they are great. Im probably going to be getting some side repeaters so if you do want some let me know and maybe we can combine and save some postage :-)PM me if your interested. Something else to consider is that I bought some crystal ones from them, but have just put the lenses on and not the whole indicator. What I found was that it was the reflector on the indicator that gave it such a horribly bright look and that with the standard indicator 'housing' they look a lot neater. I can try and get some pictures if you want, but it might not be for a day or two.

As title. Or just a spare chrome that I can paint

Whilst Ive imported a car I certainly dont think I know everything there is to know about it (e38's maybe but not e30 m3's!).I honestly think its best if we just tell everyone to visit the LTSA site and go from there. It was my starting point and it really is very good on details about what you can and cant do.
