Car broken into, need help with identification
martyyn replied to Yuen's topic in General Discussion
Oh give me a break, GBH with intent....you'd be lucky to out after 3 years of good behaviour ! -
I havent needed to do it myself, but it is the passenger door you do this on and after you lift the handle you have to really turn the key quite forcefully to have it click past where it would normally go. Its a handy trick to know.

Well the job is done. I only got one bid at teh starting price and that was it. Conrod, I read all the rules about withdrawing an auction but it wasnt clear to me whether or not I would be charged a fee so I decided to leave it going. Anyway all done...thanks fellas.

The ones Im looking at can be switched to suit either.

Ruining the e60 are you NUTS.....its fcuking gorgeous.Fully kitted with decent wheels the e60 in one of the best looking cars on the road.

Another thing to consider is whether or not the Road Code is the law. I dont believe it is. Its just a 'guide' to NZ road rules, but it cant be considered the law. Inspired conversation for the Tuesday evening !

Thanks foxy What Ive done is remove the buy-now and raise the reserve. What I dont need though is someone to place a bid and see the reserve is now the RRP and not the great discount I had said it was in the listing ! I often put a bid on just to see what the reserve is.

Sorry Will, Im with Spargo on this one. Ive always known fire hydrants to be designated by yellow triangles and not with the letters FH. Im sorry to say it but I very much doubt you will get off the fine but I can see what your saying about the road-code though.

Here's the deal. I have a listing for sale. I need to withdraw it but to me it looks like I will be stung for the same success fee amount as I wouldve paid had the auction finished successfully. Whats the best plan because I dont want to pay any more than the original listing fee if I can. As there have been no bids should I whack up the reserve and buy-now and let the auction finish ?

Great, thanks for that....I would say thats worth getting them in from the States wouldnt you

A friend just put a set on his e39 from the same guys. To cut a long story short, Eurolights were very helpful but very very slow when we struck a few problems. In the end he got them on this weeend and they look fantastic. 500 seems like a lot of money though, have you checked out what they cost from the US or UK ? I have no idea Im just asking.

Ok fella here's something to test your skills I want to see what the angel eyes would look like Not sure if its going to be possible as these are the best pictures I could find of the car and the lights... [edit] I have the car shot in much better resolution and size if you need it.

NO NO NO NO NO....dont surface grind anything. You will be lucky to get it 'smooth' for a start, you will find it impossible to take off smoothly (as in pull away in first gear) and you will lucky to have it last 12 months. [edit] I recently helped a friend buy an e39 540i/6 that had had its flywheel machined after the previous owner cooked the clutch and was too cheap to fix it properly. We knew this before we bought it and got thousands off the asking price over it....the total cost to fix it up came close to 3k and it spent 2 weeks in the garage waiting for the parts. [/edit] Sure you can do it, but if you bodge it now it will do you ten times over later. Take it on the chin, save up the money and do it properly, you will not regret it.

Your quite right I wouldnt bring an e36 320 over which is why I said 'right car at the right price'.Picking up a decent M5 for 15k pounds is another story

The car looks sweet. The only things that I would change (only my opinion of course) is 1. remove the 'Genuine BMW Parts' bit from the front, love the stripes though they are awesome. 2. colour code the mirrors as well, as youve done the bumpers you may as well go all the way. 3. raise the rear a little and stick some genuine alloys on. Like I said, only my opinion, but its looking good.

There's a front page ? ;-) I would say its more likely a skin error, I just dont get what would appear to be the right hand side of the skin. Im happy to leave it as is on the basis that its all changing anyway. Shame I have to delete the old messages, is there not a way I can save them ? Even if I view them they still come up as unread.
-
Is anyone else having these problems with the new forum software ? Each time I log in it tells me the PM's I received before we switched are all unread. Even after I read them and log in again it says the same thing. The only way to lose the message is to delete them On the fourm the right hand side is not displayed correctly and in ie6 I get javascript errors in the bottom left hand corner. I also want to subscribe to a topic but cant see how to ! Oh and I still cant see half the smilies on the left, just get little boxes with 'x's in them. Perhaps its just me because I wouldve thought they wouldve been raised by now if it was everyone.

Errrr why ? Even with the problems I had when bringing mine over, Id DEFINATELY do it again. I got mine over here and on the road for around 20k when it wouldve cost you twice that to buy one here and you still wouldnt have had the wheels ! Im not saying 'do it' as a general rule but if its the right car at the right price and you can either get over there to have a play first or have someone there you trust then its an option definately worth considering.
