  1. Not me. But I went this morning. Car started up fine. Fluids all looked okay, it got up to temp and stayed there. Pretty straight car other than the damage. Great project, went to high for me though.
  2. Engine needs to stay in the car and it be fixed up and back on the roads ;-) I went to view today but got told not till the morning of the auction. I'd enjoy a little project, but the reality is like KwS says, it will probably get wrecked as likely worth more in parts. Its pedigree has been tarnished somewhat now that its been written off by an insurance company.
  3. For aprox $2500k we could get the same sound. I allready got a nice Schnitzer back box on mine to give it some ommph. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-M3-E30-Carbon-...3#ht_354wt_1170
  4. The sound is very typical of a car with the DTM Carbon airbox, but the footage of the engine bay, it looks kinda standard Maybe it is carbon, but painted or lacquered black.
  5. I paid in the high 30's for mine a few years back now after watching the market for a long time and seeing lots of average examples, and not many nice ones. Mines late model ( 10/1990) full euro spec with the later 215hp engine and all original. I've done a few tweaks to it over the years to personalise it to my taste, but nothing that can't be put back to original spec in a few hours You get what you pay for with these cars, I've spent very little on mine considering....just basic service stuff, and a few smaller jobs. It doesn't go out in the rain if I can help it, it sits in the garage most of the time. But when I do take it out, its for a decent drive, and I'm not afraid to give it some beans....thats what they were built for, and people who wrap them in cotton wool and don't give them a thrash every so often are missing out on so much pleasure. Maybe if it were a concours spec, low kms Sport Evo I could understand it would be a different scenario. Good luck in your hunt. Its all part of the fun :-)
  6. BBS RS 16x8 5x120 ET11 Fully restored using the original bolts - rechromed. Professional mirror polish on the 2" slant lips and the half height caps. New BBS valve stems, and most importatly no leaks ! These have been on my E30 M3, for only a few months after their restoration which doesn't get driven all that much. Would also fit nicely on RWD E34, E28 etc. $2200, rims only. No offers.

  8. As with everything you pay for what you get. I would hold out for a good one to come along. None of the ones currently on TM I would go near. I guess it comes down to budget though. Dylans car was a good example of an E30 M3, and that sold pretty quick for considerably more then what is on offer at the moment mind you. Good luck in your search.

    E30 M3

Sniff sniff........ Awesome photos tho, that guy must own some cameras as nice as your car !
  13. Haha.....I'm an aluminium, black sport seat guy myself ! Might only be a fun project if its purely cosmetic work...otherwise...yep, hide the bills from the wife !
  14. Think the cheapest I have ever seen ? Been on TM for a while now and keeps dropping in price. Buyer beware though.....seller gets asked every time for service history, and has allmost none. If you can look past the 'gentlemanly' interior spec and have some cash to tidy it up.......... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=552885839
  15. Pretty basic stuff really, nothing engine management based anyway. Oil changes, waterpump replaced. Its been pretty trouble free since I have owned it. Nearly 170,000kms and still going strong. Its got a cambelt coming up, so that going to be a bit more $$$. I suspect you are probably correct re them having the software etc. They certainly do seem to concentrate more on the older stuff. But they are friendly, professional and well priced. Maybe for something more specalised I would go back to Archibalds where it has most of its service history from previous owners. I also recomend joining Cliosport.net and paying the extra for membership. Gives access to loads of guides that have been very helpful for me. And the keyring with beer opener they send you is awesome ! I also use KTec for some parts, might get the cambelt kit from them. Or maybe trade up to the RS265
  16. I also own a Clio 182. I have also had good success with AutoFrance in Sth Auckland, and I know a few other owners in Auckland with Clio Sports also use them. Haven't had or heard of any complaints and they have courtsey cars to use which is handy as they are a bit further out.
  17. And me....none for ages, and then 3 pop up...and I know of a 4th. None of them tick all the right boxes though.
  18. Thats the V6 Clio Sport. I have the RS182.
  19. Are you talking about the RS265 that is getting all the great reviews at the moment ? Love my Clio Sport to death, but would happily upgrade to this
