Nice "is"! Like the seats As Mark said ^^^^^^ Get rid of the dent in the L/F guard too
-
Matt, that looks sharp - good on you. Bet you are happy with that:-

Hi John, You will have a choice - mainly ex Japan or NZ new. A few ex Sing cars. You will probably get conflicting views on here as to import or NZ new. From my experience - no problem with ex Jap - if they come with a known documented history. You will often find the Jap cars higher specced - nav (needs to be converted) ,TV, heated seats. Post 09/01 build cars have worldwide radio tuners in them so can be programmed for here. Can suffer from pixel failure in the dash - this can be repaired. This problem not excluded from NZ cars either. Conversely, NZ cars tend to a lower spec with bells/whistles. I have seen some horror stories with ex Sing Benz's but not so much with BMW Either way - you should have the car properly evaluated by a suitably qualified BMW technician

Not too bad - under $100 from memory for the pump
-
For new pump - I guess JC BMW & them to do the job if you can't.
-
Welcome to the site Michael. This topic has been discussed a few times on here over time - advise to search the site for info. It will be the washer pump - a very common failure in these cars. Because of this - would advise to replace with a new unit. Pump / washer bottle is located behind the drivers front inner guard. An easy enough job to tackle.

Yep - DIN 88 or 92 - same battery but numbering depends on brand. The DIN 66 should have way more reserve than that though - if nothing else is wrong (& battery is charged) then battery must be crook:-) The last two E39's I have seen recently for doing navigation conversions have both had NZ fitted DIN 66's - obviously from dealers:-) Edit - spelling
-
GOLD!
-
^^^^ seconded. You cannot load test a flat battery. It MUST be charged to be able to load test - a flat battery cannot deliver load - after all - it won't start the car
-
Seriously good car preparation & photography Ryan - a credit to you
-
Can do Mike. PM me Cheers

Don't mean to but in but: The way I read it - Darren has already given a pretty certain ballpark price ($200) & any downward change would depend on numbers bought. Somewhat of a chicken/egg scenaio. Surely splitting hairs over not many $$ - a unit is either wanted or not:-

Where the hell did my CD changer go?

Pretty typical with BMW OEM battery - mine was 10 years as well. I have replaced them at up to 14 yrs in some Beemers. OEM are a quality Varta or similar brand. Wouldn't hold your breath for 10 yrs on the replacement though - asumming you still have the car of course -
Looks great, liking the colour & the kit
-
Paul - E39's should ideally be specced with D88 (or 92) depending on maunufacturers coding - this what they came with. You are totally correct though - cheapest is not the best

You learn something every day. Wasn't actually taking the micky either. Also, just realised - I called the P6 a P5
-
That won't stop it from starting - or charging for that matter:-

How much water was left in the system? No, or little water & the gauge won't register hot as no water for the sender to monitor If no water - Could have done mechanical damage
-
Magnificent result to a major build. Great craftsmenship with all the fabrication taken on. End result - Awesome Hope you are happy with:-)
-
Yup!
-

-
